- a plurality of arms coupled to the door unit, the arms being circumferentially disposed around the axis of the hub and deflected by the fixed features as the door unit moves between the open position and the closed position so that the arms engage the disk hub and inhibits movement of the disk within the housing when the door unit is in the closed position; and
- a cartridge receptacle having a surface that effects movement of the door from the closed position toward the open position when the cartridge is inserted into the receptacle.
- 2. A system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the system is adapted for playing a movie.
- 3. A cartridge for use with a disk drive, the cartridge comprising:

- a disk disposed within the housing, wherein the disk is rotatable within the housing about an axis of the hub;
- a door unit mounted to the housing and movable between an open position and a closed position;
- a resilient arm coupled to the door unit and disposed around the hub, wherein the fixed feature deflects the arm when the door unit moves between the open position and the closed position so that the arm urges the disk against the cartridge housing when the door unit is in the closed position.
- 4. A cartridge as claimed in claim 3, wherein the housing defines a hub, wherein the disk is rotatable within the housing about an axis of the hub, and wherein the door unit comprises a door support spoke extending from the hub to a door so that the door rotates about the axis of the hub.
- 5. A cartridge as claimed in claim 4, wherein the spoke and the arm comprise an integrally formed unit.
- 6. A cartridge as claimed in claim 4, wherein the door translates laterally adjacent an edge of the housing within door tracks defined by the housing, wherein the arm extends inwardly from the door beyond the feature and toward a hub of the disk, and wherein a portion of the arm engages the disk hub when the door is in the closed position.
- 7. A cartridge as claimed in claim 6, wherein an inner end of the arm extends circumferentially about the disk hub.
- 8. A cartridge for use with a disk drive, the cartridge comprising:
- a cartridge housing having an inner surface, the inner surface of the housing defining a feature;
- a disk disposed within the housing;
- a door unit mounted to the housing and movable between an open position and a closed position;
- a resilient arm extending from the door unit, wherein the feature deflects the arm when the door unit moves between the open position and the closed position so that the arm urges the disk against the cartridge housing when the door unit is in the closed position;
- wherein the housing defines a hub, wherein the disk is rotatable within the housing about an axis of the hub, and wherein the door unit comprises a door support spoke extending from the hub to a door so that the door rotates about the axis of the hub; and
- a plurality of resilient arms deflected by an associated plurality of features when the door unit moves between the open position and the closed position so that the arms urge the disk against the cartridge housing when the door unit is in the closed position, the arms being distributed around the hub.
- 9. A cartridge for use with a disk drive, the cartridge comprising:
- a cartridge housing having an inner surface, the inner surface of the housing defining a feature;
- a disk disposed within the housing;
- a door unit mounted to the housing and movable between an open position and a closed position;
- a resilient arm extending from the door unit, wherein the feature deflects the arm when the door unit moves between the open position and the closed position so that the arm urges the disk against the cartridge housing when the door unit is in the closed position;
- wherein the housing defines a hub, wherein the disk is rotatable within the housing about an axis of the hub, and wherein the door unit comprises a door support spoke extending from the hub to a door so that the door rotates about the axis of the hub;
- a plurality of resilient arms deflected by an associated plurality of features when the door unit moves between the open position and the closed position so that the arms urges the disk almost the cartridge housing when the door unit is in the closed position, the arms being distributed around the hub; and
- wherein the arms comprise a metal and extend circumferentially, each arm extending from the spoke into an associated opening of the spoke, and wherein the features comprise ramps extending inward from an inner surface of the housing.
- 10. A method for inhibiting a rigid disk from rattling within a disk cartridge housing after the cartridge is removed from a disk drive, the method comprising urging a disk hub against the cartridge housing by deflecting a plurality of arms when a door unit moves from an open position toward a closed position, the arms being circumferentially disposed about the disk hub and coupled to the door unit.
- 11. The method of clam 10 wherein the urging step is carried out by sliding the plurality of arms against a plurality of fixed features to axially urge the plurality of arms inward against the disk hub.
- 12. The method of claim 10 wherein the urging step is carried out by rotatably mounting the plurality of arms to the disk cartridge housing.
- 13. A cartridge comprising:
- a cartridge housing having an inner surface;
- a disk disposed within the cartridge housing, the disk having a hub and being rotatable about an axis of the hub;
- a door movable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the door is rotatable about the axis of the hub;
- a plurality of fixed features affixed to the inner surface of the cartridge housing; and
- a plurality of resilient arms coupled to the door and extending axially from the axis of the hub, wherein the resilient arms rotate with the door about the axis from the open position to the closed position, wherein the features resiliently deflect the arms against the hub of the disk to secure the hub of the disk against the inner surface of the cartridge housing.
- 14. The cartridge of claim 13 wherein the plurality of resilient arms further extend circumferentially about the axis of the hub.
- 15. The cartridge of claim 13 wherein the feature is a ramp or a rounded bump.
- 16. The cartridge of claim 13 wherein the door is rotatably mounted to the cartridge housing through a spoke.
- 17. The cartridge of claim 16 wherein the spoke defines a plurality of openings aligned over the features, wherein the arms are disposed within the openings to slidingly engage the features.
- 18. The cartridge of claim 16 wherein the resilient arms extend from the axis through spoke members, the spoke members being engaged to the spoke of the door such that rotation of the spoke rotates the resilient arms.
- 19. The cartridge of claim 13 wherein the resilient arms comprise extensions which engage the hub of the disk.
- 20. The cartridge of claim 13 wherein the resilient arms comprise tabs which extend axially from the arm, wherein the tabs ride along the features to axially deflect the arms against the hub of the disk.
- 21. The cartridge of claim 13 wherein the resilient arms are rotatably mounted to the inner surface of the cartridge housing.
