Claims
- 1. A method, comprising:
communicating with a credit information source to obtain a credit score associated with a particular telecommunications subscriber, using the credit score to establish a credit limit for the particular telecommunications subscriber, receiving a call information record for calls involving the particular telecommunications subscriber, using the call information record to compare call usage of the particular telecommunications subscriber to the credit limit, and, generating an indication based on whether the call usage exceeds the credit limit.
- 2. A method according to claim 1, where the call information record is based on information from a switching center.
- 3. A method according to claim 2, where the switching center is capable of maintaining connections between pairs of telecommunications devices.
- 4. A method according to claim 1, where communicating includes communicating periodically to obtain at least one updated credit score.
- 5. A method according to claim 4, where using the credit score includes using at least one of the at least one updated credit score.
- 6. A method according to claim 5, where using at least one of the at least one updated credit score includes: using at least one of the at least one updated credit score to establish an updated credit limit after a predetermined period of time.
- 7. A method according to claim 1, further including translating the credit score to a common format credit score.
- 8. A method according to claim 1, further including:
identifying potentially fraudulent telecommunications activity based on a pattern in a plurality of credit scores for the particular telecommunications subscriber.
- 9. A method according to claim 1, further including communicating a decreasing credit limit to a telecommunications service provider.
- 10. A method according to claim 1, further including providing the indication to a telecommunications service provider.
- 11. A method according to claim 1, where receiving a call information record includes receiving from at least one of a home switching center and a roaming switching center.
- 12. A method according to claim 1, where generating an indication includes providing the indication to a telecommunications service provider.
- 13. A method according to claim 1, where communicating includes communicating periodically to obtain at least one updated credit score, and,
where using the credit score includes using at least one of the at least one updated credit score to establish an updated credit limit after a predetermined period of time, and, further including,
using at least one of the at least one updated credit score to change the predetermined period of time.
- 14. A method according to claim 1, further including providing an interface, where:
communicating includes communicating using a first portion of the interface, and, receiving includes receiving using a second portion of the interface.
- 15. A computer product disposed on a computer readable medium, the computer product having instructions for causing a processor to:
communicate with a credit information source to obtain a credit score associated with a particular telecommunications subscriber, use the credit score to establish a credit limit for the particular telecommunications subscriber, receive a call information record for calls involving the particular telecommunications subscriber, use the call information record to compare call usage of the particular telecommunications subscriber to the credit limit, and, generate an indication based on whether the call usage exceeds the credit limit.
- 16. A computer product according to claim 15, where the instructions to communicate include instructions to communicate periodically to obtain at least one updated credit score.
- 17. A computer product according to claim 16, where the instructions to use the credit score include instructions to use at least one of the at least one updated credit score.
- 18. A computer product according to claim 17, where the instructions to use at least one of the at least one updated credit score include: the instructions to use at least one of the at least one updated credit score to establish an updated credit limit after a predetermined period of time.
- 19. A computer product according to claim 15, further including instructions to translate the credit score to a common format credit score.
- 20. A computer product according to claim 15, further including:
instructions to identify potentially fraudulent telecommunications activity based on a pattern in a plurality of credit scores for the particular telecommunications subscriber.
- 21. A computer product according to claim 15, further including instructions to communicate a decreasing credit limit to a telecommunications service provider.
- 22. A computer product according to claim 15, further including instructions to provide the indication to a telecommunications service provider.
- 23. A computer product according to claim 15, where communicating includes communicating periodically to obtain at least one updated credit score, and,
where the instructions to use the credit score include instructions to use at least one of the at least one updated credit score to establish an updated credit limit after a predetermined period of time, and, further including instructions to,
use at least one of the at least one updated credit score to change the predetermined period of time.
- 24. A computer product according to claim 15, further including instructions to provide an interface, where:
the instructions to communicate include instructions to communicate using a first portion of the interface, and, the instructions to receive include instructions to receive using a second portion of the interface.
