- a roll of labels having a web with a free end,
- a first endless vacuum conveyor for successively engaging the free end of the web of the roll of labels and tensioning the portion of the web between a point upstream and the free end by said first endless conveyor,
- a second endless vacuum conveyor at an angle to the first conveyor,
- means for successively indexing the second endless conveyor,
- means for successively cutting labels from successive tensioned portions,
- means for moving said first endless conveyor to transfer each label successively by moving the first endless conveyor with a label adjacent said second endless conveyor which is indexed successively to receive each label successively and provide an array of labels which corresponds in spacing to the spacing of the sets of molds,
- means for simultaneously engaging the array of labels and moving them from a first position on said second conveyor to a second position within the partible molds and for depositing the labels in the molds.
- 2. The apparatus set forth in claim 1 including pinch rolls at said point upstream of said web for pinching said web to tension the web.
- 3. The apparatus set forth in claim 1 wherein said cutting means comprises a roller and an anvil and means for moving the roller transversely of the anvil to cut the web.
- 4. The apparatus set forth in claim 1 wherein said means for moving said first endless conveyor includes means for guiding the first endless conveyor for swinging movement bodily between a first position adjacent the web and a second position adjacent the second conveyor.
