Claims
- 1. An apparatus for dehydrating a wet sludge, comprising:
- a preliminary dehydrator means for performing a preliminary dehydration of the wet sludge;
- a pelletizer means coupled to said preliminary dehydrator means for pelletizing the sludge after the preliminary dehydration;
- an excess water separator means coupled to said pelletizer means for removing the excess water content of the pellets of the sludge produced by said pelletizer means; and
- a compression dehydrator means coupled to said excess water separator means and including an endless filter fabric for performing with said endless filter fabric a compression dehydration of the pellets from which the excess water content is removed.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said preliminary dehydrator means comprises a pair of endless chains respectively looped around two pairs of sprockets, and a plurality of said filter fabrics coupled to said endless chains.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said filter fabrics are generally bag-shaped.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said preliminary dehydrator means comprises:
- a pair of endless looped around a pair of drive rollers and a pair of driven rollers;
- a plurality of said filter fabrics aligned between said endless chains; and
- agitator means for agitating the sludge in said filter fabrics.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said agitator means comprises:
- a rotation roller rotating on said filter fabrics; and
- a plurality of agitating plates aligned on a circumferential surface of said roller at predetermined intervals so as to extend along an axial direction of said roller.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said agitator means comprises:
- an endless chain looped around a pair of rollers located above said filter fabrics, said chains being movable in a direction perpendicular to a travelling direction of said filter fabrics; and
- a plurality of agitating plates aligned on said chains along the travelling direction of said filter fabrics and which are insertable in said filter fabrics responsive to said agitating plates coming to a lower portion of said chains.
- 7. An apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said filter fabrics are generally bag-shaped.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said agitator means comprises:
- an arm arranged for pivotal and reciprocal movement; and
- an agitating plate mounted on said arm and which is insertable in said bag-shaped filter fabrics so as to agitate sludge contained therein tin accordance with movement of said arm.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said agitator means comprises:
- a shaft which is vertically movable and is insertable in one of said bag-shaped filter fabrics upon downward movement of said shaft; and
- a plurality of disks mounted at predetermined intervals on said shaft and at an inclination with respect to a direction perpendicular to said shaft.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said agitator means comprises:
- a lift element located above said filter fabrics; and
- a plurality of agitating plates aligned on said lift element along a direction perpendicular to a travelling direction of said filter fabrics and which are insertable into and withdrawable out from said filter fabrics.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said preliminary dehydrator means comprises a substantially flat filter fabric which is looped around a pair of rollers.
- 12. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said preliminary dehydrator means comprises a drum thickener.
- 13. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said compression dehydrator means comprises a belt-press type dehydrator means for performing a compression dehydration between a pair of endless filter fabrics.
- 14. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said compression dehydrator means comprises:
- an endless filter fabric for performing compression dehydration of the sludge;
- a plurality of roller means arranged for changing a travelling direction of said filter fabrics; and
- a press plate means for pressing said roller means to press said filter fabrics travelling with changes in direction.
- 15. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said compression dehydrator means comprises:
- an endless filter fabric for performing compression dehydration of the sludge; and
- a plurality of pairs of roller means arranged for pressing said filter fabrics.
- 16. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said pelletizer means comprises:
- a hopper means for receiving the sludge after the preliminary dehydration of the sludge;
- a pair of rollers having meshing portions on circumferential surfaces thereof and which are rotatable in mesh with each other; and
- means for supplying the sludge to said meshing portions of said rollers to be pelletized.
- 17. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said pelletizer means comprises:
- a hopper means for receiving the sludge after preliminary dehydration thereof;
- a cylinder arranged below said hopper means; and
- a piston means for extruding the sludge in said cylinder to pelletize the sludge.
- 18. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said pelletizer means comprises:
- a body including a portion having openings therein, and which is inclined to receive the sludge after the preliminary dehydration; and
- a vibration means for vibrating said body for pelletizing the sludge received on said body portion having said openings therein.
- 19. An apparatus according to claim 18, wherein said body portion having said openings therein comprises a punched metal plate.
- 20. An apparatus according to claim 18, wherein said body portion having said openings therein comprises a net.
- 21. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said pelletizer means comprises:
- a punched metal semicylindrical body for receiving the sludge; and
- a press member arranged for pressing the sludge on said semicylindrical body thereagainst to pelletize the sludge.
- 22. An apparatus according to claim 21, wherein said press member comprises a scraper.
- 23. An apparatus according to claim 21, wherein said press member comprises a press roller.
- 24. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said excess water separator means comprises;
- a filter fabric for receiving sludge thereon; and
- a vacuum suction means for applying a vacuum force to said sludge from a lower side of said filter fabric for separating a water content of the sludge.
- 25. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said excess water separator means comprises:
- a pair of rollers;
- a filter fabric looped around said pair of rollers, said filter fabric having a large mesh; and
- gravity dehydrating means for gravity dehydrating the sludge on said filter fabric.
