Claims
- 1. An apparatus for transporting a pair of aligned escalator balustrades for assembly onto an escalator, comprising:
- a frame;
- a left support arm, having means for attaching one of the escalator balustrades, attached to said frame;
- a right support arm, having means for attaching the other of the escalator balustrades, attached to said frame;
- wherein said attaching means attach said transporting apparatus to the escalator balustrades, thereby enabling the aligned pair of balustrades to be transported for installation onto the escalator.
- 2. An apparatus for transporting escalator balustrades according to claim 1, further comprising a pressure vessel engaged with attaching means of each support arm.
- 3. An apparatus for transporting escalator balustrades according to claim 2, wherein said attaching means comprises:
- a plurality of suction cups, said suction cups connected with said pressure vessel, such that evacuating said pressure vessel enables said suction cups to be attached to a balustrade panel of the escalator balustrade.
- 4. An apparatus for transporting escalator balustrades according to claim 1, further comprising:
- a horizontal level indicator disposed in a fixed relationship to said frame;
- a vertical level indicator disposed in a fixed relationship to said frame;
- a first apparatus for adjusting the horizontal position of said transporting apparatus; and
- a second apparatus for adjusting the vertical position of said transporting apparatus.
