- 2. A method of distinguishing an animal vaccinated with a vaccine, said vaccine comprising an attenuated, genetically-engineered pseudorabies virus designated S-PRV-155 (ATCC Accession No. VR 2311), from an animal infected with a naturally-occurring, wild-type pseudorabies virus which comprises detecting the presence or absence of pseudorabies virus glycoprotein X in a body fluid of the animal.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the presence or absence of the glycoprotein X in the body fluid is determined by detecting in the body fluid antibodies specific for the glycoprotein X.
- 4. The method of claim 2, wherein the method further comprises detecting the presence or absence of pseudorabies glycoprotein I in the body fluid of the animal.
- 5. The method of claim 2, wherein the animal is a swine.
- 6. A method of distinguishing an animal vaccinated with a vaccine, said vaccine comprising an attenuated, genetically-engineered pseudorabies virus designated S-PRV-155 (ATCC Accession No. VR 2311), from an animal infected with a naturally-occurring, wild-type pseudorabies virus which comprises detecting the presence or absence of the glycoprotein I in a body fluid of the animal.
- 7. The method of claim 6, wherein the presence or absence of the glycoprotein I in the body fluid is determined by detecting in the body fluid antibodies specific for the glycoprotein I.
