Claims
- 1. A focus adjusting apparatus comprising:
- (a) a photographic lens;
- (b) focus detecting means for receiving light from an object to be photographed through said photographic lens and detecting a focusing condition of said photographic lens;
- (c) reliability judging means for judging the reliability of the focusing condition detected by said focus detecting means;
- (d) driving means for driving said photographic lens while performing the focus detection with the reliability of the focusing condition being below a predetermined level;
- (e) first data output means for outputting a first data including a fixed focus detection enabling range inherent to said focus detecting means;
- (f) second data output means for outputting a second data indicating a movable range for focus adjustment of said photographic lens; and
- (g) determining means for determining based on the first data and second data whether or not the lens driving operation by said driving means is to be carried out.
- 2. A focus adjusting apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said photographic lens is selectively attachable to a camera body and generates a lens data peculiar thereto, and said second data output means converts the lens data into the second data.
- 3. A focus adjusting apparatus comprising:
- (a) a photographic lens;
- (b) focus detecting means for receiving light from an object to be photographed through said photographic lens and detecting a focusing condition of said photographic lens;
- (c) reliability judging means for judging reliability of the focusing condition detected by said focus detecting means;
- (d) first driving means for driving said photographic lens while performing the focus detection with the reliability of the focusing condition being below a predetermined level;
- (e) second driving means for forcibly driving said photographic lens to a predetermined position; and
- (f) control means for controlling said first driving means such that the driving range of said photographic lens to be driven by said first driving means is changed in a case where the lens driving operation by said second driving means has been performed and in a case where the lens driving operation by said second driving means has not been performed.
- 4. A focus adjusting apparatus comprising:
- (a) a photographic lens;
- (b) focus detecting means for receiving light from an object to be photographed through said photographic lens and detecting a focusing condition of said photographic lens;
- (c) reliability judging means for judging the reliability of the focusing condition detected by said focus detecting means;
- (d) driving means for driving said photographic lens while performing the focus detection with the reliability of the focusing condition being below a predetermined level;
- (e) data output means for outputting a data indicating a focus detection enabling range of said focus detecting means; and
- (f) control means for controlling said driving means such that said photographic lens is driven within a half of the focus detection enabling range.
- 5. A focus adjusting apparatus comprising:
- (a) a photographic lens;
- (b) focus detecting means for receiving light from an object to be photographed through said photographic lens and detecting a focusing condition of said photographic lens;
- (c) reliability judging means for judging the reliability of the focusing condition detected by said focus detecting means;
- (d) driving means for driving said photographic lens while performing the focus detection with the reliability of the focusing condition being below a predetermined level; and
- (e) control means for controlling the driving speed by said driving means so as to reduce the driving speed of said photographic lens when an amount of lens movement to be driven to an extreme end position of a focus adjusting range of said photographic lens reaches a predetermined amount, and to stop said photographic lens at the end position.
- 6. A focus adjusting apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said control means includes switch means which is provided at a predetermined position apart from the end position of said photographic position by the predetermined amount and outputs a signal to reduce the lens driving speed when said photographic lens reaches the predetermined position.
