The disclosure and prior art relates to filling devices and more particularly pertains to a new filling device for holding a bag open for filling the bag.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a basket that is selectively positioned in a bag to retain the bag in an open position for filling the bag. A plurality of clips is provided and each of the clips is movably coupled to the basket. Each of the clips frictionally engages the bag to releasably retain the bag on the basket.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A plurality of legs 30 is provided and each of the legs 30 extends between the top edge 18 of the first ring 16 and the lower edge 22 of the second ring 20. Thus, the second ring 20 is aligned with and is spaced from the first ring 16. The legs 30 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed around the first 16 and second 20 rings. Each of the legs 30 may have a length ranging between approximately 10.0 cm and 30.0 cm.
The first ring 16 may have a diameter ranging between approximately 20.0 cm and 40.0 cm. The second ring 20 may have a diameter ranging between approximately 25.0 cm and 45.0 cm and the diameter of the second ring 20 is greater than the diameter of the first ring 16. The first ring 16 is positioned in the bag 14 and each of the legs 30 inhibits the bag 14 from collapsing. A material 32, such as a granular food item or the like, is poured through the second ring 20 for filling the bag 14. Additionally, the material 32 passes between each of the legs 30 and through the first ring 16 to evenly fill the bag 14.
A plurality of clips 34 is provided and each of the clips 34 is coupled to the basket 12. Moreover, each of the clips 34 frictionally engages the bag 14 to releasably retain the bag 14 on the basket 12. Each of the clips 34 has a first end 36 and a second end 38. The first end 36 corresponding to each of the clips 34 is hingedly coupled to the first surface 26 of the second ring 20. The second end 38 corresponding to each of the clips 34 is biased to frictionally engage the first surface 26. Thus, the second end 38 corresponding to each of the clips 34 compresses the bag 14 against the first surface 26.
In use, the basket 12 is inserted into the bag 14 thereby facilitating the bag 14 to be held open for filling the bag 14. An upper edge of the bag 14 is extended between the clips 34 and the first surface 26 of the second ring 20. Thus, each of the clips 34 frictionally engages the bag 14 to releasably retain the bag 14 on the basket 12. The material 32 is poured through the second ring 20 to fill the bag 14. In this way an individual can fill the bag 14 without needing assistance to hold the bag 14 open.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
