Claims
- 1. An in vitro method of treating blood for transplantation comprising exposing blood to:
- a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody produced by a method comprising:
- (1) immunizing a host with tumor cells expressing gangliosides;
- (2) boosting said host with a suspension comprising a mixture of tumor cell membrane and at least one purified lactonized tumor-associated ganglioside;
- (3) boosting said host with an immunogen comprising a lactone of a tumor associated ganglioside;
- (4) fusing immunized cells from said host with myeloma cells to form hybridoma cells;
- (5) selecting hybridoma cells that produce antibody that binds to said ganglioside of step (3) and does not react with hematopoietic progenitor cells;
- (6) culturing said selected hybridoma cells; and
- (7) recovering said antibody.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein said antibody is SNH3 having ATCC deposit number HB 9941.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein said antibody is SNH4 having ATCC deposit number HB 10518.
- 4. The method of claim 1 which further comprises exposing said blood exposed to said antibody to a therapeutically effective amount of complement.
