Claims
- 1. A board game facilitating the transfer of knowledge concerning a family playing the game, comprising:
a game board upon which a plurality of game pieces are moved as the game is played, the game board includes a plurality of game spaces upon which the game pieces are moved so as to determine the action a player is required to take wherein a portion of the game spaces designate a plurality of different categories concerning various aspects of family knowledge; a plurality a category question cards, each category question card corresponding to a specific category designated upon the various game spaces included in the game board; a plurality of family photographs players are asked to identify during the playing of the game; wherein players move game pieces about the game board landing upon various game spaces and answering questions or acting in the manner required by the game space upon which the player lands, the players collect category question cards from the various categories until such a time that one player has collected at least one category question card from each of the plurality of categories.
- 2. The board game according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of categories are chosen from the consisting of PHOTO GALLERY, PHOTO GALLERY CARDS, MILESTONES, FAMILY FAVORITES, FAMILY FRIENDS, FAMILY TREES, FAMILY SECRETS/STORIES and ANNIVERSARIES.
- 3. The board game according to claim 2, wherein category question cards relating to the PHOTO GALLERY category ask a player to identify a family member in one of the plurality of family photographs.
- 4. The board game according to claim 1, wherein the category question cards are prepared by those family members playing the game.
- 5. The board game according to claim 1, further including means for identifying family members in the family photographs.
- 6. The board game according to claim 1, further including a photo album in which the family photographs are stored.
- 7. The board game according to claim 6, wherein the photo album includes means for identifying family members in the family photographs.
- 8. The board game according to claim 1, wherein the categories question cards are color coordinated with the respective game spaces indicating selection of category question cards from various categories.
- 9. The board game according to claim 1, further including lose a turn cards or lose a card card mixed with the category question cards.
- 10. The board game according to claim 1, further including an answer sheet providing answers to questions posed in the plurality of category question cards.
- 11. A method for playing a board game, comprising the following steps:
preparing a plurality of category questions cards relating to various categories concerning a family playing the game; collecting a plurality of family photographs and organizing the family photographs for use during the playing of the game; the player taking turns moving individual game pieces about a game board, the game board including a plurality of game spaces designating various categories relating to family knowledge and instructing a user to answer questions posed upon the plurality of category question cards; providing players with a category question card when the player correctly answers the question on the category question; and continuing the game until such a time that one player collects at least one category question card from each of the plurality of categories.
- 12. The method for playing a board game according to claim 11, wherein the plurality of categories are chosen from the consisting of PHOTO GALLERY, PHOTO GALLERY CARDS, MILESTONES, FAMILY FAVORITES, FAMILY FRIENDS, FAMILY TREES, FAMILY SECRETS/STORIES and ANNIVERSARIES.
- 13. The method for playing a board game according to claim 12, wherein category question cards relating to the PHOTO GALLERY category ask a player to identify a family member in one of the plurality of family photographs.
- 14. The method for playing a board game according to claim 11, wherein the step of preparing category question cards includes asking family members playing the game to prepare category question cards.
- 15. The method for playing a board game according to claim 11, wherein the step of collecting family photographs includes providing means for identifying family members in the family photographs.
- 16. The method for playing a board game according to claim 11, wherein the step of collecting family photographs includes storing the family photographs in a photo album.
- 17. The method for playing a board game according to claim 16, wherein the step of collecting family photographs includes providing means for identifying family members in the family photographs.
- 18. The method for playing a board game according to claim 11, wherein the categories question cards are color coordinated with the respective game spaces indicating selection of category question cards from various categories.
- 19. The method for playing a board game according to claim 11, further including the step of mixing lose a turn cards or lose a card cards with the category question cards.
- 20. The method for playing a board game according to claim 11, further including the step of preparing and using an answer sheet providing answers to questions posed in the plurality of category question cards.
