Claims
- 1. A heating/cooling garment having an air permeability and vapor permeability which permits heat transfer through said garment comprising:
- a vapor/gas porous substrate having an associated air permeability and vapor permeability;
- a length of tubing adapted to carry heating or cooling fluid therein; and,
- means for adhesively attaching said tubing to said substrate, such that the air permeability and vapor permeability of said substrate are substantially preserved, said means for adhesively attaching said tubing to said substrate including a pattern of adhesive dots on said substrate, the density of said dots not substantially interfering with the porosity of said substrate.
- 2. The garment of claim 1, wherein said dot pattern is a predetermined pattern unrelated to the position of said tubing on said substrate.
- 3. The garment of claim 1, wherein said dot pattern is a random pattern.
- 4. The garment of claim 1, wherein said substrate has a pattern of apertures therethrough surrounded by material and wherein said adhesive dots adhere only to said material, thereby not substantially occluding said apertures.
- 5. The garment of claim 1, wherein said substrate is a fusible fabric having said adhesive dots thereon.
- 6. The garment of claim 5, wherein said fusible fabric is taken from the group of substrates consisting of plain weave substrates, twill weave substrates, weft inserted knit substrates, tricot knit substrates, thermal bond non-woven substrates, circular knit substrates, saturate bonded non-woven substrates, spun lace non-woven substrates and open net web substrates.
- 7. The garment of claim 1, wherein said substrate is a liner/pattern piece and further including a fusible fabric over said liner/pattern piece and over said tubing, said tubing being sandwiched between said fusible fabric and said liner/pattern piece, said fusible fabric being adhesively attached to said liner/pattern piece to either side of said tubing.
- 8. The garment of claim 1, wherein said adhesives are taken from the group of adhesives consisting of polyamids, polyesters, polyethylenes, polyvinyl chlorides, polyvinyl acetates and polyvinyl acetate copolymers.
- 9. The garment of claim 1 and further including additional lengths of tubing, said length of tubing and said additional lengths of tubing being formed into separate heating/cooling circuits that are connected in parallel and fed from a common feed tubing manifold of larger diameter.
