Claims
- 1. A compound selected from the group consisting of those of the formula ##STR358## and the pharmaceutically acceptable basic salts thereof, wherein Ar is selected from the group consisting of phenyl, 4-hydroxyphenyl, 2-thienyl and 3-thienyl;
- A is methylene;
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl containing from 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.5 is selected from the group consisting of naphthyl; phenyl, benzyl; monosubstituted phenyl wherein said substituent is selected from the group consisting of fluoro, chloro, iodo, bromo, methyl, methoxy, acetyl, dimethylamino, amidino, phenyl, cyano, trifluoromethyl, amino, hydroxy, alkanoylamino containing from 2 to 5 carbon atoms, methylthio, nitro, carbethoxy, carboxamido, methylsulfony, sulfamoyl, N-methylsulfamoyl and N,N-dimethylsulfamoyl; disubstituted phenyl wherein each substituent is selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, alkoxy containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, methylthio, acetoxy, methylsulfonyl, trifluoromethyl, N,N-dimethylsulfamoyl, iodo, chloro, fluoro, bromo, cyano, carbethoxy, and allyloxy; trisubstituted phenyl wherein each substituent is selected from the group consisting of fluoro, chloro, bromo, iodo and methoxy; and substituted benzyl wherein said substituent is selected from the group consisting of chloro, fluoro, methoxy, hydroxy, dichloro, methyl and trifluoromethyl.
- 2. A compound of claim 1 wherein Ar is phenyl, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each hydrogen and R.sub.5 is disubstituted phenyl.
- 3. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-dibromophenyl.
- 4. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,4-dibromophenyl.
- 5. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)-phenyl.
- 6. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-bis(methylthio)phenyl.
- 7. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3-cyano-5-chlorophenyl.
- 8. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3-cyano-5-bromophenyl.
- 9. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-difluorophenyl.
- 10. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-diidophenyl.
- 11. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-dicyanophenyl.
- 12. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-bis(methylsulfonyl)-phenyl.
- 13. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-bis(N,N-dimethylsulfamoyul)phenyl.
- 14. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-dichlorophenyl.
- 15. The compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,4-dichlorophenyl.
- 16. A compound of claim 1 wherein Ar is phenyl, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each hydrogen and R.sub.5 is said trisubstituted phenyl.
- 17. The compound of claim 16 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,4,5-tribromophenyl.
- 18. The compound of claim 16 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-dichloro-4-bromophenyl.
- 19. The compound of claim 16 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,4,5-trichlorophenyl.
- 20. The compound of claim 16 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-dibromo-4-chlorophenyl.
- 21. The compound of claim 16 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,5-dibromo-4-fluorophenyl.
- 22. The compound of claim 16 wherein R.sub.5 is 3,4,5-triiodophenyl.
- 23. A compund of claim 1 wherein Ar is phenyl, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each hydrogen and R.sub.5 is selected from the group consisting of phenyl and said monosubstituted phenyl.
- 24. The compound of claim 23 wherein R.sub.5 is m-cyanophenyl.
- 25. The compound of claim 23 wherein R.sub.5 is phenyl.
- 26. The compound of claim 23 wherein R.sub.5 is p-chlorophenyl.
- 27. The compound of claim 23 wherein R.sub.5 is p-fluorophenyl.
- 28. The compound of claim 23 wherein R.sub.5 is p-bromophenyl.
- 29. The compound of claim 23 wherein R.sub.5 is m-chlorophenyl.
