- means for stopping the generation of the driving power in response to the second reporting means to fix the focus adjustment for picture taking when the in-focus condition is reported.
- 2. The invention of claim 1, wherein the second reporting means includes means for providing in-focus data indicative of a limit of the defocusing degree within which the in-focus condition is considered to be established, and means for determining whether or not the defocusing degree of the defocusing information is within the limit.
- 3. The invention of claim 1, wherein the first reporting means includes means for providing an in-focus data indicative of a limit of the defocusing degree within which the in-focus condition is considered to be established, and means for determining whether or not the defocusing degree of the defocusing information is within the limit.
- 4. The invention of claim 1, wherein the first reporting means includes means for informing that the focus adjustment is carried out by the generating means to a degree of cancelling the defocusing degree of the defocusing information generated by the processing means.
- 5. The invention of claim 1, wherein the detecting means includes means responsive to the processing means for determining a change in the defocusing direction of the defocusing information.
- 6. The invention of claim 1, further comprising means for sensing when the focus adjustment is brought to one end of its adjustable range, means for storing the defocusing direction of the defocusing information upon stopping the generation of the driving power, and means for comparing the stored defocusing direction with the defocusing direction of the defocusing information generated with the generation of the driving power completely stopped to reopen the generation of the driving power in case the compared defocusing directions differ from each other.
- 7. The invention of claim 1, further comprising a movable member moved in response to the generation of the driving power, means for producing a pulse at every movement of the movable member by a predetermined degree, means for counting the pulse, means for presetting a number of pulses to be counted by the counting means in response to the processing means, means for finding that the count contents of the counting means reaches a predetermined number to stop the generation of the driving power, and means for discovering that the count contents of the counting means is unchanged for a predetermined period to stop the generation of the driving power.
- 8. The invention of claim 1 wherein the means for driving the lens system includes a motor means for driving the lens system and means for generating pulses representative of the incremented movement of the lens system, and further includes counter means for recording the changes in the pulse and means for monitoring the rate of changes of the pulses and stopping the motor means when a predetermined pulse rate of change occurs.
- 9. In a camera system having a predetermined focal plane and capable of automatic focus control in response to focus detection by means of receiving light from an object through an objective lens system, an improvement comprising:
- means for receiving light through the objective lens system representative of an image of the object and producing electric signals representative of that image;
- means for processing the electric signals to generate defocusing information indicative of the degree of defocusing of the image relative to the predetermined plane;
- means for moving the objective lens system to adjust the focus of the image;
- means for controlling the moving means;
- means for keeping the controlling means informed of the most recent defocusing information in the course of moving the lens system;
- means for detecting a condition for stopping the movement of the objective lens system, and
- means for confirming the establishment of the condition in response to the processing means with the objective lens system completely stopped to determine the necessity of further moving the lens system in case the condition is not finally established, wherein the detecting means includes first means responsive to the processing means for reporting an in-focus condition during movement of the lens system, and the confirming means includes second means responsive to the processing means for reporting an in-focus condition with the lens system completely stopped, and means for movement of the lens system in response to the second reporting means to fix the focus adjustment for picture taking when the in-focus condition is reported.
- 10. The invention of claim 9 wherein the means for moving the lens system includes a motor means for driving the lens system and means for generating pulses representative of the incremental movement of the lens system, and further includes counter means for recording the changes in the pulses and means for monitoring the rate of changes of the pulses.
- 11. The invention of claim 9 wherein the means for monitoring includes a pair of registers, one to store a previous output of the counter means and the other to record the current count and means for comparing their contents and stopping the motor means when their values are equal.
