Claims
- 1. A camera with a multi-zone focus detecting device comprising:
- an objective lens mounted on a camera;
- means for detecting focusing conditions in a plurality of zones in a photographing field to be photographed, based on light which has been passed through said objective lens so as to produce a plurality of focusing condition data;
- means for selecting one zone based on the result of the focusing conditions, provided that a certain condition is satisfied;
- means for detecting whether or not said selecting means is selecting one zone;
- means for measuring light in an area corresponding to said selected zone based on light which has passed through said objective lens as a spot light data;
- means for measuring light in said image as an average light data;
- means for choosing said spot light data when said detecting means detects that one zone is selected, and said average light data when said detecting means detects that no zone is selected; and
- means for calculating exposure data based on said chosen data.
- 2. A camera with a multi-zone focus detecting device, comprising:
- an objective lens mounted on a camera;
- means for receiving light, passing through said objective lens, and coming from a plurality of zones in a photographing field to be photographed to produce a plurality of light receiving signals;
- means for detecting focusing conditions of said objective lens in said plurality of zones on the basis of said plurality of light receiving signals to produce a plurality of focusing condition data;
- means for producing one focusing condition signal determining in accordance with said plurality of focusing condition data;
- means for driving said objective lens to an in-focus position in accordance with said focusing condition signal;
- means, different from said receiving means, for measuring light passed through said objective lens in a plurality of areas;
- means for generating a plurality of measured light data each corresponding to each of the amounts of light in each of said plurality of areas measured by said measuring means;
- means for forming an exposure control data on the basis of said plurality of measured light data, and
- means for repeatedly operating said focusing condition detecting means, said measured light data generating means and said exposure control data forming means until said objective lens is driven to said in-focus position.
- 3. A camera as claimed in claim 2, wherein said one focusing condition producing means include means for selecting one focusing condition data among said plurality of focusing condition data.
- 4. A camera as claimed in claim 3, wherein each area corresponds to each zone respectively, and wherein said exposure control data forming means includes means for calculating an exposure control data based on one measured light data of one area corresponding to one zone whose focusing condition data is selected by said selecting means.
- 5. A camera as claimed in claim 4, further comprising means for storing, when said objective lens is driven to said in-focus position, one measured light data obtained from one area corresponding to said selected zone, and wherein said calculating means calculates said exposure condition data based on said one measured light data stored in said storing means.
- 6. A camera as claimed in claim 2, further comprising means for discriminating whether or no said one focusing condition producing means already forms one focusing condition data, and means for measuring averaged light in said photographing field based on the light which has been passed through said objective lens so as to produce an averaged light data, and wherein said exposure control data forming means forms an exposure control data based on said averaged light data when said discriminating means discriminates that the one focusing condition producing means has not yet formed one focusing condition data.
- 7. A camera with a multi-zone focus detecting device comprising:
- an objective lens mounted on said camera;
- means for detecting a focusing condition in a plurality of zones in a photographing field to be photographed from light which has passed through said objective less, and for producing a plurality of focusing condition data;
- means for selecting one of the zones from the focusing condition data;
- means for measuring brightness in a plurality of areas from light which has passed through said objective lens, and for producing a plurality of brightness data;
- means for repeatedly inputting the brightness data from said measuring means;
- means for driving said objective lens to an in-focus condition on the basis of focusing condition data obtained from the selected zone;
- means for storing the brightness data;
- means for updating the contents of said storing means every time that brightness data is inputted;
- means for inhibiting said updating means from updating the contents of said storing means when said objective lens is driven to the in-focus condition;
- means for calculating exposure data based on the brightness data stored in said storing means in accordance with one of plurality of predetermined different modes of exposure calculation, and
- means for determining the specific mode of exposure calculation including taking into consideration, when relevant, the results of the selection by the means for selecting a zone in the photographing field.
- 8. A camera with a multi-zone focus detecting device comprising:
- an objective lens mounted on said camera;
- first light receiving means having a plurality of first receiving elements, each of which generates a first signal in accordance with light incident thereon, the light coming through said objective lens from one of a plurality of zones in a photographing field to be photographed, respectively;
- means for detecting a focusing condition in each zone in accordance with the first signal to output focusing condition data;
- means for selecting one of the zones in accordance with the focusing condition data;
- second light receiving means having a plurality of second receiving elements, each of which generates a second signal in accordance with light incident thereon, the light coming through said objective lens from one of a plurality of areas;
- means for generating a third signal indicating whether or not the selection of said selecting means is completed;
- means for making a first calculation, when he third signal indicates that the selection is completed, to obtain brightness data in accordance with the second signals, and making a second calculation which is different from the first calculation, when the third signal indicates that the selection has not yet been completed, to obtain brightness data in accordance with the second signals, and
- means for calculating exposure data in accordance with the brightness data.
- 9. A camera as claimed in claim 8, further comprising:
- means for determining whether or not there is a zone where the focusing condition cannot be detected, wherein said generating means generates, in response to the determining means, the third signal indicating that the selection has not yet been completed when there is no zone where the focusing condition can be detected.
- 10. A camera as clammed in claim 8, wherein the first calculation is made in accordance with the second signal generated by one of he second receiving elements which receives light from the area corresponding to the selected zone.
- 11. A camera with a multi-zone focus detecting device comprising:
- an objective lens mounted on said camera;
- means for detecting a focusing condition in a plurality of zones in a photographing field to be photographed from light which has passed through said objective lens, and for producing a plurality of focusing condition data;
- means for selecting one of the zones from the focusing condition data;
- means for measuring brightness in a plurality of areas from light which has passed through said objective lens, and for producing a plurality of brightness signals;
- means for generating a signal indicating whether or not said selecting means has selected one of the zones;
- means for making a first calculation based on the brightness signals to obtain first brightness data when the signal generated by said generating means indicates that said selecting means has selected one of the zones, and making a second calculation, which is different from the first calculation, based on the brightness signals to obtain second brightness data when the signal generated by said generating means indicates that said selecting means has not yet selected one of the zones, and
- means for calculating exposure data on the brightness data outputted from said making means.
- 12. A camera as claimed in claim 11, wherein said generating means generates the signal indicating that said selecting means has not yet selected one of the zones until the detection of a focusing condition and the selection of one of the zones are completed.
- 13. A camera as claimed in claim 11, wherein said generating means generates the signal indicating that said selecting means has not yet selected one of the zones when a focusing condition cannot be detected in any one.
- 14. A camera as claimed in claim 11, wherein the first calculation is made on the brightness signal obtained from the area corresponding to the selected zone.
- 15. A camera as clammed in claim 14, wherein the first calculation is made on only the brightness signal obtained from the area corresponding to the selected zone.
- 16. A camera as claimed in claim 11, wherein the second calculation is made to calculate the average of all the brightness signals.
