Claims
- 1. A cassette loading apparatus by which either of a small tape cassette and a large tape cassette is loadable between a cassette loading position and a cassette playing position in a tape player,
- each of said small tape cassette and said large tape cassette including a pair of spaced apart reels, a cassette body accommodating the pair of reels, a front lid rotatably mounted to said cassette body for movement between an open position and a closed position, a rear lid rotatably interlocked with said front lid, and a cassette guide groove formed in a bottom face of said cassette body, wherein said rear lid has a protruding portion protruding rearwardly and laterally of the rear lid and engaged with said cassette body for being slidably guided by said cassette body for movement between said open and closed positions thereof,
- for each of said small tape cassette and said large tape cassette, said front lid has a bottom end positioned above the level of the bottom face of said cassette body, and a bottom-most edge of said protruding portion of said rear lid is at a level above the bottom end of said front lid when said front and rear lids are in the lid closed condition,
- the reels of said small tape cassette being spaced apart from one another by a first distance, and the reels of said large tape cassette being spaced apart from one another by a second distance which is larger than said first distance,
- said cassette loading apparatus comprising:
- a cassette holding means for holding either of the small and the large tape cassette, and said cassette holding means having a cassette guide protruding part for engaging in said cassette guide groove in either of the small and the large tape cassette for guiding the respective tape cassette onto said cassette holding means;
- a moving means connected to said cassette holding means for moving said cassette holding means between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position;
- a lid opening member on said apparatus positioned for being abutted by only said rear lid of the respective tape cassette for raising the rear lid of the respective tape cassette toward an open position and, due to the front and rear lids of the respective tape cassette being rotatably interlocked with each other, thereby raising the front lid toward an open position, when said cassette holding means is moved by said moving means from the cassette loading position to the cassette playing position;
- wherein no front lid opening member is provided; and
- wherein an urging means is connected to said lids for urging said front and rear lids in a closing direction, said lid opening member being a rigid material having sufficient strength to move said lids against a force of said urging means.
- 2. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 1, in which the protruding portion is at one side end of the rear lid, and said urging means is connected to one of said front and rear lids adjacent said one side end, and said lid opening member has an upper portion abutting the protruding portion of said rear lid adjacent the side end of said rear lid at which said urging means is located for moving said rear and front lids in the closing direction.
- 3. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said lid opening member and said protruding portion abutting the lid opening member have respective shapes for, during opening, causing said lid opening member to be abutted by said protruding portion on said rear lid when said rear lid is started to be opened, then for causing said lid opening member to be abutted by the rear lid in the vicinity of said protruding portion during a middle part of the opening, and then for causing said lid opening member to be abutted by said protruding portion when said rear lid is completely opened for holding the rear lid in a final opened state.
- 4. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein a top end of said lid opening member has an upwardly extending protruding part.
- 5. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said moving means further comprises means for guiding said cassette holding means along a locus of an inverted L-shaped curve during movement between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position.
- 6. A cassette loading apparatus for moving a tape cassette between a cassette loading position and a cassette playing position in a tape player, comprising:
- a tape cassette including a cassette body, a front lid rotatably mounted to said cassette body for movement between a lid open condition and a lid closed condition and a rear lid rotatably interlocked with said front lid, wherein said rear lid has a protruding portion protruding rearwardly and laterally of the rear lid and engaged with said cassette body for being slidably guided by said cassette body for movement between the lid closed condition and the lid open condition;
- said front lid having a bottom end positioned above the level of the bottom surface of said cassette body, and a bottom-most edge of said protruding portion of said rear lid being at a level above the bottom end of said front lid when said front and rear lids are in the lid closed condition;
- a cassette holding means for holding the tape cassette;
- a moving means connected to said cassette holding means for moving said cassette holding means between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position;
- a lid opening member on said apparatus positioned for being abutted by only said rear lid for raising the rear lid of the tape cassette toward an open position and, due to the front and rear lids being rotatably interlocked with each other, thereby raising the front lid toward an open position, when said cassette holding means is moved by said moving means from the cassette loading position to the cassette playing position;
- wherein no front lid opening member is provided;
- wherein an urging means is connected to said lids for urging said front and rear lids in a closing direction, said lid opening member being a rigid material having sufficient strength to move said lids against a force of said urging means.
- 7. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 6, in which the protruding portion is at one side end of the rear lid, and said urging means is connected to one of said front and rear lids adjacent said one side end, and said rear lid opening member has an upper portion abutting the protruding portion of said rear lid adjacent the side end of said rear lid at which said urging means is located for moving said rear and front lids in the closing direction.
- 8. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 6, wherein a top end of said lid opening member has an upwardly extending protruding part.
- 9. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 6, wherein said moving means further comprises means for guiding said cassette holding means along a locus of an inverted L-shaped curve during movement between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position.
- 10. A cassette loading apparatus for moving a tape cassette between a cassette loading position and a cassette playing position in a tape player, comprising:
- a cassette body having a tape extending along a front part of the cassette body, a front lid covering a front facing side of the tape, a rear lid for covering a rear facing side of the tape and rotatably mounted on said front lid, said rear having a protruding portion protruding laterally of the rear lid and engaged with said cassette body for being slidably guided by said cassette body for movement between a lid closed condition and a lid open condition during movement of said cassette body between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position;
- said protruding portion of said rear lid being at a level above a bottom end of said rear lid when said front and rear lids are in the lid closed condition,
- said cassette body having a guide groove in which said protruding portion is engaged and extending in a path for guiding a lower end of the rear lid for causing said lower end to be spaced rearward of the tape when the lid is moved in a lid opening direction;
- a cassette holding means for holding the tape cassette;
- a moving means connected to said cassette holding means for moving said cassette holding means between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position; and
- a lid opening member for opening said rear lid;
- wherein said lid opening member, said rear lid and said guide groove are positioned and configured such that said lid opening member is abutted by said protruding portion of said rear lid when said cassette holding means is started to be moved toward the cassette playing position, and such that said lid opening member is abutted by the bottom end of said rear lid during further movement of said cassette holding means toward the cassette playing position.
- 11. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 10 further comprising an urging means connected to said lids for urging said front and rear lids in a closing direction, said lid opening member being a rigid material having sufficient strength to move said lids against a force of said urging means.
- 12. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 11, in which the protruding portion is at one side end of the rear lid, and said urging means is connected to one of said front and rear lids adjacent said one side end, and said rear lid opening member has an upper portion abutting the protruding portion of said rear lid adjacent the side end of said rear lid at which said urging means is located for moving said rear and front lids in the opening direction.
- 13. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 11, wherein a top end of said lid opening member has an upwardly extending protruding part.
- 14. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 10, wherein said moving means further comprises means for guiding said cassette holding means along a locus of an inverted L-shaped curve during movement between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position.
- 15. A cassette loading apparatus for moving a tape cassette between a cassette loading position and a cassette playing position in a tape player, comprising:
- a cassette body having a tape extending along a front part of the cassette body, a bottom surface having a guide groove formed therein and extending in a front-to-rear direction, a front lid covering a front facing side of the tape, a rear lid for covering a rear facing side of the tape and rotatably mounted on said front lid for rotatably interlocking said front and rear lids with each other, said rear lid having a protruding portion protruding laterally of the rear lid and engaged with said cassette body for being slidably guided by said cassette body for movement between a lid closed condition and a lid open condition;
- said front lid having a bottom end positioned above the level of the bottom of said cassette body, and said protruding portion on said rear lid being at a level above the bottom end of said front lid when said front and rear lids are in the lid closed condition;
- a cassette holding means for holding the tape cassette, said cassette holding means having a cassette guide protruding part for engaging in said guide groove of said cassette body;
- a moving means connected to said cassette holding means for moving said cassette holding means between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position;
- a lid opening member on said apparatus positioned for being abutted by only said rear lid for raising the rear lid of the tape cassette toward an open position and, due to the front and rear lids being rotatably interlocked with each other, thereby raising the front lid toward an open position, when said cassette holding means is moved by said moving means from the cassette loading position to the cassette playing position;
- wherein no front lid opening member is provided; and
- wherein said rear lid has a bottom end disposed below said protruding portion of said rear lid when said rear lid is in the lid closed condition, and wherein said lid opening member and said rear lid have respective shapes for, during opening, causing said lid opening member to be abutted by said protruding portion of said rear lid when said rear lid is started to be opened, then for causing said lid opening member to be abutted by said bottom end of the rear lid during a middle part of the opening, and then for causing said lid opening member to be abutted by said protruding portion when said rear lid is completely opened for holding the rear lid in a final opened state.
- 16. The cassette loading apparatus as claimed in claim 15, further comprising an urging means connected to said lids for urging said front and rear lids in a closing direction, said lid opening member being a rigid material having sufficient strength to move said lids against a force of said urging means.
- 17. A cassette loading apparatus by which either of a small tape cassette and a large tape cassette is loadable between a cassette loading position and a cassette playing position in a tape player,
- said small tape cassette including a pair of reels spaced at a first distance, a cassette body accommodating the pair of reels and having a cassette guide groove therein located centrally between the reels, a front lid rotatably mounted on a front face of said cassette body, and a rear lid having a protruding portion slidably guided by said cassette body in movement of said rear lid in opening and closing directions, said front lid and rear lid being rotatably interlocked with each other, and
- said large tape cassette including a pair of reels spaced at a second distance which is larger than said first distance, a cassette body accommodating the pair of reels and having a cassette guide groove therein at a generally center portion between the reels, a front lid rotatably mounted on a front face of said cassette body, and a rear lid having a protruding portion slidably guided by said cassette body in movement of said rear lid in opening and closing directions, said front lid and rear lid being rotatably interlocked with each other,
- said cassette loading apparatus comprising:
- a cassette holding means for holding either of the small and the large tape cassette, and having a cassette guide protruding part for engaging in said cassette guide groove in either of the small and the large tape cassette for guiding the respective tape cassette onto said cassette holding means;
- a moving means connected to said cassette holding means for moving said cassette holding means between the cassette loading position and the cassette playing position;
- a lid opening member on said apparatus positioned for being abutted by only said rear lid of the respective tape cassette for raising the rear lid of the respective tape cassette toward an open position and, due to the front and rear lids of the respective tape cassette being rotatably interlocked with each other, thereby raising the front lid toward an open position, when said cassette holding means is moved by said moving means from the cassette loading position to the cassette playing position;
- wherein no front lid opening member is provided;
- wherein said rear lid of each of said small and large tape cassettes has a bottom end which is disposed below said protruding portion of the respective rear lid when said rear lid is in a closed condition; and
- wherein said lid opening member and said rear lid have respective shapes for, during opening, causing said lid opening member to be abutted by said protruding portion of said rear lid when said rear lid is started to be opened, then for causing said lid opening member to be abutted by said bottom end of the rear lid during a middle part of the opening, and then for causing said lid opening member to be abutted by said protruding portion when said rear lid is completely opened for holding the rear lid in a final opened state.
