Claims
- 1. A catalyst compound, comprising:
at least two β-diiminate bidentate ligands, each β-diiminate bidentate ligand independently represented by Formula II: 7wherein: R and R′ independently represent a hydrogen atom, or a substituted or unsubstituted, branched or unbranched hydrocarbyl or organosilyl radical; and R1, R2, and R3 independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted, branched, or unbranched hydrocarbyl radical.
- 2. The catalyst compound of claim 1, wherein each of said at least two β-diiminate bidentate ligands are coordinated to the same group IIIB, IVB, VB, VIB, VIIB, or VIII transition metal.
- 3. The catalyst compound of claim 2, wherein said transition metal includes titanium, vanadium, or chromium.
- 4. The catalyst compound of claim 3, wherein said transition metal includes chromium.
- 5. The catalyst compound of claim 4, wherein said compound includes bis-(2,4-pentane di(N-phenyl)iminato) chromium (II).
- 6. The catalyst compound of claim 4, further comprising a co-catalyst.
- 7. The catalyst compound of claim 2, wherein said transition metal includes those in the +II oxidation state.
- 8. The catalyst compound of claim 1, wherein said catalyst compound is supported on an inorganic support.
- 9. The catalyst compound of claim 8, wherein said support includes silica.
- 10. The catalyst compound of claim 2, wherein said catalyst compound is supported on an inorganic support.
- 11. The catalyst compound of claim 10, wherein said support includes silica.
- 12. The catalyst compound of claim 1, wherein R and R′ independently represent a hydrogen atom, or a radical selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, arylorganosilyl, and alkylorganosilyl.
- 13. The catalyst compound of claim 2, wherein R and R′ independently represent a hydrogen atom, or a radical selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, arylorganosilyl, and alkylorganosilyl.
- 13. The catalyst compound of claim 2, wherein R1 and R2 are methyl.
- 14. The catalyst compound of claim 1, wherein said compound further comprises a co-catalyst.
- 15. The catalyst compound of claim 14, wherein said co-catalyst includes an alkyl aluminum compound.
- 16. A process for polymerizing at least one olefin monomer and/or oligomer, comprising:
intimately contacting said at least one monomer and/or oligomer with the catalyst compound of claim 1.
- 17. The process of claim 16, wherein said catalyst compound is supported on an inorganic support.
- 18. A process for polymerizing at least one olefin monomer and/or oligomer, comprising:
intimately contacting said at least one monomer and/or oligomer with the catalyst compound of claim 2.
- 19. The process of claim 18, wherein said catalyst compound is supported on an inorganic support.
- 20. The process of claim 19, further comprising: contacting said olefin monomer and/or oligomer and catalyst compound are contacted in the presence of a co-catalyst.
