Claims
- 1. A substantially pure polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence at least 70% identical to SEQ ID NO:1, wherein the polypeptide is a kinase.
- 2. The polypeptide of claim 1, wherein the amino acid sequence is at least 80% identical to SEQ ID NO:1.
- 3. The polypeptide of claim 1, wherein the amino acid sequence is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:1.
- 4. The polypeptide of claim 1, wherein the amino acid sequence is at least 95% identical to SEQ ID NO:1.
- 5. A substantially pure polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.
- 6. A substantially pure polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, with up to 30 conservative amino acid substitutions, wherein the polypeptide is a kinase.
- 7. A substantially pure polypeptide encoded by a nucleic acid that hybridizes under high stringency conditions to a probe the sequence of which consists of SEQ ID NO:2, wherein the polypeptide is a kinase.
- 8. An isolated nucleic acid encoding the polypeptide of claim 1.
- 9. An isolated nucleic acid encoding the polypeptide of claim 5.
- 10. An isolated nucleic acid encoding the polypeptide of claim 6.
- 11. An isolated nucleic acid comprising a strand that hybridizes under high stringency conditions to a single stranded probe, the sequence of which consists of SEQ ID NO:2 or the complement of SEQ ID NO:2.
- 12. The isolated nucleic acid of claim 11, wherein the nucleic acid encodes a kinase.
- 13. The nucleic acid of claim 12, wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide comprises SEQ ID NO:1.
- 14. The nucleic acid of claim 11, wherein the strand is at least 15 nucleotides in length.
- 15. A vector comprising the nucleic acid of claim 8.
- 16. A vector comprising the nucleic acid of claim 9.
- 17. A vector comprising the nucleic acid of claim 10.
- 18. A vector comprising the nucleic acid of claim 11.
- 19. A vector comprising the nucleic acid of claim 12.
- 20. A cultured host cell comprising the nucleic acid of claim 8.
- 21. A cultured host cell comprising the nucleic acid of claim 9.
- 22. A cultured host cell comprising the nucleic acid of claim 10.
- 23. A cultured host cell comprising the nucleic acid of claim 11.
- 24. A cultured host cell comprising the nucleic acid of claim 12.
- 25. A method of producing a polypeptide, the method comprising culturing the cultured host cell of claim 20 in a culture, expressing the polypeptide in the cultured host cell, and isolating the polypeptide from the culture.
- 26. An antibody that specifically binds to the polypeptide of claim 1.
- 27. A method of screening for a compound that binds to a polypeptide, the method comprising:
contacting a test sample with the polypeptide of claim 1; detecting the binding activity of the test sample to the polypeptide; and selecting a compound binding to the polypeptide.
- 28. A method for screening a compound that promotes or inhibits the kinase activity of a polypeptide, the method comprising
contacting the polypeptide of claim 1 with a kinase substrate in the presence of a test compound; assaying the kinase activity of the polypeptide on the kinase substrate in the presence of the test compound; and selecting a compound that increases or decreases the kinase activity when compared with the kinase activity in the absence of the test compound.
- 29. A compound isolated by the method of claim 27.
- 30. The compound of claim 29, wherein the compound is a protein.
- 31. The compound of claim 30, wherein the compound is an antibody.
- 32. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound that inhibits the kinase activity of the polypeptide of claim 1.
- 33. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound that inhibits the intracellular expression of a kinase having an amino acid sequence at least 70% identical to SEQ ID NO:1.
- 34. The composition of claim 33, wherein the compound is an anti-cancer drug.
