Claims
- 1. A safety apparatus for a clamping apparatus including a machine base, a fixed board fixed to said machine base, a movable board movable relative to said fixed board and a pair of guide rails disposed on said machine base for guiding said movable board, said safety apparatus comprising:
- a safety door slidably disposed with respect to said machine base between an open position and a closed position;
- a bearing member disposed on said base and including a nut rotatably supported therein;
- an engagement device, disposed on said movable board, and including a stopper member which is vertically movable when said safety door is opened or closed;
- a safety rod disposed between said fixed board at a front end of said rod and said bearing member at a rear end of said rod, said safety rod passing through said stopper member and having a predetermined number of engagement stages disposed at predetermined intervals along said safety rod, said safety rod having a threaded shaft at the rear end thereof which is threadedly engaged with said nut of said bearing member, said threaded shaft and said safety rod being movable in the axial direction by rotating said nut.
- 2. The safety apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said safety apparatus further comprises:
- drive means for rotating said nut;
- a pair of switches, disposed on said engagement device, for detecting upward and downward movement of said stopper member and attendantly whether said stopper member is disengaged or engaged with said engagement stages; and
- a pair of switches, disposed at the rear end of said safety rod, for detecting the movement of said safety rod between first and second positions, wherein when said door is in said open position and said switches on said engagement device indicate that said stopper member is disengaged, said drive means rotates said nut so as to move said safety rod between said first and second positions until said stopper member engages said engagement stages.
- 3. A safety apparatus for a clamping device, wherein a movable board is disposed between a pair of fixed boards on a machine base, said movable board being movable forwardly and backwardly, a safety door being disposed on a side of said machine base, comprising:
- an engagement device, disposed on said movable board, for vertically moving a stopper member when said safety door is opened or closed; and
- a safety rod horizontally disposed between said fixed boards and including a plurality of engagement portions at predetermined intervals along said safety rod and having a threaded portion at a rear end thereof, said safety rod passing through said engagement device so that said engagement device can engage said engagement portions; and
- means, disposed on one of said fixed boards, for axially moving said safety rod to enable said stopper member to engage one of said engagement portions.
- 4. The safety apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising:
- a pair of switches, disposed on said engagement device, for checking that said stopper member is raised or lowered; and a pair of switches, disposed at the rear end of said threaded portion of said safety rod, for detecting the movement of said safety rod.
- 5. A safety apparatus for a clamping device including a machine base, a first fixed board fixedly disposed on said machine base, a movable board movably disposed on said machine base and one of a second fixed board and a bearing member fixed to said machine base on a side of said movable board opposite said first fixed board, and a safety door slidably disposed on the machine base between an open position and a closed position, said safety apparatus comprising:
- an engagement device disposed on said movable board and including a stopper member which is vertically movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position when said safety door is opened or closed;
- a safety rod disposed between the first fixed board and one of said bearing member and the second fixed board, said safety rod including a plurality of engagement portions disposed at predetermined intervals along the safety rod; and
- drive means, disposed on one of said bearing member and said second fixed board, for axially moving said safety rod, wherein when said door is in said open position and said stopper member is in said disengaged position, said drive means axially moves said safety rod so as to enable said stopper member to engage said engagement portions of said safety rod.
- 6. The safety apparatus of claim 5, wherein said drive means include a nut rotatably received in one of said bearing member and said second fixed board, a threaded shaft provided at a rear end of said safety rod which is threadedly engaged with said nut and means for rotating said nut.
