Claims
- 1. A coating composition consisting essentially of a. approximately 50-80%, by weight of the total, of a compound represented by the structure ##EQU9## where Z is ##EQU10## D.sub.1 is hydrogen, --OH or --CH.sub.2 OH; D.sub.2 is hydrogen or --OH, (but one of D.sub.1 or D.sub.2 must be --OH or --CH.sub.2 OH);
- X is ##EQU11## or --O--; R and R.sub.1 are alkyl radicals of 4-18 carbon atoms;
- and
- n is 0 or 1;
- and
- b. approximately 20-50%, by weight of the total, of an aminoplast resin.
- 2. The composition of claim 1 where, in the compound of (a),
- Z is ##EQU12## D.sub.1 is hydrogen; D.sub.2 is --OH;
- X is -O-C;
- n is 1;
- and
- R and R.sub.1 are ##EQU13## where R.sub.2 is --CH.sub.3 and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are lower alkyl, the total numbers of carbon atoms in R.sub.2,R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 being 7-11.
- 3. The coating composition of claim 1 wherein the aminoplast resin is a hexamethoxymethyl melamine resin.
- 4. The coating composition of claim 2 wherein the aminoplast resin is a hexamethoxymethyl melamine resin.
