Claims
- 1. A Cobalt-Phosphorous-base wear resistant substance for coating a metallic substrate, comprising a first alloy mixed with a second alloy, the first alloy consisting essentially of about 89%, by weight, Cobalt and about 11%, by weight, Phosphorous, said second alloy including, by weight, about 61.1% Co, 8% Cr, 2.5% Si, 0.04% C and 28% Mo, said substance containing, by weight, about 50-85% of said first alloy and about 15-50% of said material.
- 2. The substance of claim 1, containing, by weight, about 50-75% of said first alloy and about 25-50% of said second alloy.
- 3. The substance of claim 2, wherein said metallic substrate comprises a prosthesis for implantation in a living being, said substance promoting bone ingrowth and adherence through formation of biocompatible phosphides.
- 4. The substance of claim 2, comprising a brazing material used to braze components together to form assemblies used as medical devices and general substrate materials.
- 5. The substance of claim 1, containing, by weight, about 50% of said first alloy and about 50% of said second alloy.
- 6. The substance of claim 5, wherein said metallic substrate comprises a prosthesis for implantation in a living being, said substance promoting bone ingrowth and adherence through formation of biocompatible phosphides.
- 7. The substance of claim 5, formed with an abrasive surface usable for a perforated or unperforated file, a burr or a cutting tool.
- 8. The substance of claim 5, comprising a brazing material used to braze components together to form assemblies used as medical devices and general substrate materials.
- 9. The substance of claim 1, formed with an abrasive surface usable for a perforated or unperforated file, a burr or a cutting tool.
- 10. The substance of claim 1, wherein said metallic substrate comprises a prosthesis for implantation in a living being, said substance promoting bone ingrowth and adherence through formation of biocompatible phosphides.
- 11. The substance of claim 1, comprising a brazing material used to braze components together to form assemblies used as medical devices and general substrate materials.
