Claims
- 1. A method of preventing, inhibiting, treating, or ameliorating cancer comprising administering to a patient having or suspected of having cancer, a compound that reduces Colon Specific Gene expression or activity, or that reduces Colon Specific Protein expression or activity.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said cancer is cancer of a gastrointestinal tract organ or tissue.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein said cancer is colon cancer.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein said cancer is cancer of an endocrine organ or tissue.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the compound is an antibody that specifically binds Colon Specific Protein.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the compound is a polynucleotide that inhibits Colon Specific Gene expression or Colon Specific Protein expression.
- 7. A method of diagnosing cancer comprising contacting a biological sample with a compound capable of detecting Colon Specific polynucleotides or polypeptides.
- 8. The method of claim 7, wherein said cancer is cancer of a gastrointestinal tract organ or tissue.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein said cancer is colon cancer.
- 10. The method of claim 7, wherein said cancer is cancer of an endocrine organ or tissue.
- 11. The method of claim 7, wherein said compound is an antibody that specifically binds Colon Specific Protein.
- 12. The method of claim 7, wherein said compound is a polynucleotide that hybridizes to the Colon Specific gene.
