Claims
- 1. A composition for the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers comprising an anti-ulcer effective amount of a carbamoyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylated Fc fragment of human IgG together with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent.
- 2. The composition of claim 1 wherein said carbamoyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylated Fc fragment has a NH.sub.2 CO-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group linked to said Fc fragment through a thio group resulting from the cleavage of the disulfide bonds of the interchain of said F.sub.c fragment.
- 3. The composition of claim 2 wherein said NH.sub.2 CO-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group is NH.sub.2 COCH.sub.2.
- 4. A method for treating a gastrointestinal ulcer in need of same which method comprises administering from 1 to 100 mg/kg/day of a carbamoyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylated Fc fragment of human IgG.
- 5. The method of claim 4 wherein said carbamoyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylated Fc fragment has a NH.sub.2 CO-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group linked to said Fc fragment through a thio group resulting from the cleavage of the disulfide bonds of the interchain of said Fc fragment.
- 6. The method of claim 5 wherein said NH.sub.2 CO-C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group is NH.sub.2 COCH.sub.2.
