The disclosure relates to dispensing devices and more particularly pertains to a new dispensing device for dispensing contact lens containers. The device includes a pair of dispensing sleeves that each has a dispensing platform. Each of the dispensing sleeves contains a strip of contact lens containers that each contains contact lenses for a user's left eye and a user's right eye. Each of the dispenser sleeves has an adhesive strip for adhering to a support surface.
(2) Description of Related Art including information disclosed under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98.
The prior art relates to dispensing devices including a box for containing and shipping cereal bowls. The prior art discloses a box for shipping contact lenses while keeping the contact lenses dry. The prior art discloses a gravity fed dispensing chute which includes a dispending slot. The prior art discloses a variety of dispensing assemblies that includes a housing which has a pair of channels integrated into the housing and a pair of dispensing slots each extending into a respective channel. Each of the channels contains objects which are dispensable through the dispensing slots. The prior art discloses a tower for storing eye shields and a dispensing slot in the tower for dispensing the eye shields. The prior art discloses a pen dispenser for dispensing contact lenses.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pair of dispensing sleeves that each contains a strip of contact lens containers for a respective one of the user's eyes. Each of the dispensing sleeves has a dispensing platform to facilitate a respective one of the contact lens containers to be removed from the dispensing sleeves for each of the user's eyes. A pair of mating members is each coupled to a receptive one of the dispensing sleeves. In this way each of the mating members can engage a support surface in a bathroom thereby facilitating the contact lens containers to be accessible to the user during the user's morning bathroom routine.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A pair of dispensing sleeves 20 is provided and each of the dispensing sleeves 20 contains a respective strip of contact lens containers 12 for a respective one of the user's eyes. Each of the dispensing sleeves 20 has a dispensing platform 22 to facilitate a respective one of the contact lens containers 12 to be removed from the dispensing sleeves 20 for each of the user's eyes. Each of the dispensing sleeves 20 has a top end 24, a bottom end 26 and an outer wall 28 extending between the top end 24 and the bottom end 26, and the outer wall 28 has a back side 30 and a front side 32. Each of the dispensing sleeves 20 is elongated between the top end 24 and the bottom end 26. The dispensing platform 22 on each of the dispensing sleeves 20 comprises a leg 34 extending downwardly from the bottom end 26 of a respective dispensing sleeve and a foot 36 that is spaced from and is oriented parallel to the bottom end 26. In this way the respective contact lens container 12 can rest on the foot 36 having the respective contact lens container 12 being accessible to the user.
A pair of mating members 38 is provided and each of the mating members 38 is coupled to a respective one of the dispensing sleeves 20. In this way each of the mating members 38 can engage a support surface 40 in a bathroom thereby facilitating the contact lens containers 12 to be accessible to the user during the user's morning bathroom routine. Each of the mating members 38 has a first surface 42 and a second surface 44, and the first surface 42 of each of the mating members 38 is bonded to back side 30 of the outer wall 28 of the respective dispensing sleeve. In this way the second surface 44 of each of the mating members 38 can engage the support surface 40. Each of the mating members 38 extends along a full length of the outer wall 28 of the respective dispensing sleeve 20 and the leg 34 of the dispensing platform 22 on the respective dispensing sleeve 20. Each of the mating members 38 may comprise an adhesive strip or other type of releasable mating member. The support surface 40 may be a bathroom mirror or other type of vertical support surface.
In use, each of the dispensing sleeves 20 is filled with a respective one of the right contact lens containers 18 and the left contact lens containers 16. In this way the user can remove a single left contact lens container 16 and a single right contact lens container 18 each morning to wear their contact lenses. Furthermore, the dispensing sleeves 20 keeps the left contact lens containers 16 and the right contact lens containers 18 separated from each other to reduce the likelihood that the user will mistake one for the other. Each of the dispensing sleeves 20 is replenished with a new strip of contact lens containers 12 when the dispensing sleeves 20 are depleted.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded.
A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
