Claims
- 1. A process of repeatedly absorbing and desorbing hydrogen into and from a molded body packed in a container, said process comprising at least one step of introducing hydrogen gas into said container whereby hydrogen is absorbed into said molded body, and at least one step of releasing hydrogen gas from said container whereby hydrogen is desorbed from said molded body,
- said molded body being prepared by applying pressure to a mixture of a first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and a binder, wherein:
- a) the first and second hydrogen absorbing alloy powders each have different particle size distributions and different particle sizes,
- b) the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- c) the ratio of the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder to the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of greater than 0 to not greater than 0.50, and
- d) the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
- 2. A process of repeatedly absorbing and desorbing hydrogen into and from a molded body packed in a container, said process comprising at least one step of introducing hydrogen gas into said container whereby hydrogen is absorbed into said molded body, and at least one step of releasing hydrogen gas from said container whereby hydrogen is desorbed from said molded body,
- said molded body being prepared by applying pressure to a mixture of a first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and a binder, wherein:
- a) the first, second and third hydrogen absorbing alloy powders each have different particle size distributions and different particle sizes,
- b) the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- c) the ratio of the average particle size of the first hydrogen alloy powder to the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of greater than 0 to not greater than 0.50,
- d) the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen,
- e) the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- f) the ratio of the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder to the average particle size of the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of greater than 0 to no greater than 0.50, and
- g) the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
- 3. A process of repeatedly absorbing and desorbing hydrogen into and from a mixture of powders packed in a container, said process comprising at least one step of introducing hydrogen gas into said container whereby hydrogen is absorbed into said mixture of powders, and at least one step of releasing hydrogen gas from said container whereby hydrogen is desorbed from said mixture of powders,
- said mixture of powders being prepared by using a first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and a binder, wherein:
- a) the first and second hydrogen absorbing alloy powders each have different particle size distributions and different particle sizes,
- b) the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- c) the ratio of the average particle size of the first hydrogen alloy powder to the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of 0.03 to 0.50, and
- d) the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
- 4. A process of repeatedly absorbing and desorbing hydrogen into and from a mixture of powders packed in a container, said process comprising at least one step of introducing hydrogen gas into said container whereby hydrogen is absorbed into said mixture of powders, and at least one step of releasing hydrogen gas from said container whereby hydrogen is desorbed from said mixture of powders,
- said mixture of powders being prepared by using a first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and a binder, wherein:
- a) the first and second hydrogen absorbing alloy powders each have different particle size distributions and different particle sizes,
- b) the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- c) the ratio of the average particle size of the first hydrogen alloy powder to the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of 0.03 to 0.50,
- d) the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen,
- e) the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- f) the ratio of the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder to the average particle size of the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of 0.03 to 0.50, and
- g) the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
- 5. A molded body prepared by applying pressure to a mixture of a first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and a binder, wherein:
- a) the first and second hydrogen absorbing alloy powders each have different particle size distributions and different particle sizes,
- b) the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- c) the ratio of the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder to the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of greater than 0 to not greater than 0.50, and
- d) the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
- 6. A molded body prepared by applying pressure to a mixture of a first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and a binder, wherein:
- a) the first, second and third hydrogen absorbing alloy powders each have different particle size distributions and different particle sizes,
- b) the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- c) the ratio of the average particle size of the first hydrogen alloy powder to the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of greater than 0 to not greater than 0.50,
- d) the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen,
- e) the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- f) the ratio of the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder to the average particle size of the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of greater than 0 to no greater than 0.50, and
- g) the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
- 7. A molded body prepared by applying pressure to a mixture of a first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and a binder, wherein:
- a) the first and second hydrogen absorbing alloy powders each have different particle size distributions and different particle sizes,
- b) the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- c) the ratio of the average particle size of the first hydrogen alloy powder to the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of 0.03 to 0.50, and
- d) the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
- 8. A molded body prepared by applying pressure to a mixture of a first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and a binder, wherein:
- a) the first and second hydrogen absorbing alloy powders each have different particle size distributions and different particle sizes,
- b) the average particle size of the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- c) the ratio of the average particle size of the first hydrogen alloy powder to the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of 0.03 to 0.50,
- d) the first hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen,
- e) the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is smaller than the average particle size of the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder,
- f) the ratio of the average particle size of the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder to the average particle size of the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder is in the range of 0.03 to 0.50, and
- g) the second hydrogen absorbing alloy powder undergoes pulverization faster than the third hydrogen absorbing alloy powder as a result of each alloy being subjected to repeated cycles of absorption and desorption of hydrogen.
