Claims
- 1. A copying apparatus including means for carrying an original to be copied; a photosensitive medium; an optical system for projecting on the photosensitive medium, an image of the original carried by said carrying means; means for forming an image on the photosensitive medium; means for developing the image formed by the image forming means; means operable at a transfer station for transferring the image onto a transfer medium; means for registering said transfer medium with said photosensitive medium at said transfer station; means for feeding the transfer medium to said registering means; means for conveying the transfer medium from the transfer station to a discharge port; a driving source; first clutch means for establishing a driving connection between said driving source and said feed means; second clutch means for establishing a driving connection between said driving source and said registering means; means for controlling said first clutch means to start driving said feeding means and for controlling said second clutch means to stop driving said registering means after said start of said feeding means wherein said control of said first and second clutch means is continued until the leading edge of said transfer medium is stopped by engaging the undriven registering means, and for subsequently controlling said first clutch means to cease driving the feeding means and said second clutch to start driving said registering means; and delay means for maintaining the driving of said registering means by said second clutch means for a predetermined time period after the commencement of feeding of a next successive transfer medium, wherein at the conclusion of said time period said second clutc interrupts the driving of the register rollers to stop said next succeeding transfer medium at its leading edge engages said medium registering means.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said delaying means includes a mechanical timing member for stopping said registering means at the conclusion of said predetermined timed period after the starting of said first clutch means.
- 3. A copying apparatus including mean for carrying an original to be copied; means for forming an electrostatic latent image in accordance with a pattern of an original carried by said carrying means; means for forming a developed image of the electrostatic latent image on a copy medium; a driving source; feed roller means and register roller means for feeding a copy medium one by one from a stack of the copy mediums, and for registering said copy medium with said copy medium image forming means; means for conveying the copy medium fed by said feeding roller means and register roller means to a discharge port along a predetermined passage; first clutch means for establishing a driving connection between said driving source and said feed roller means; second clutch means for establishing a driving connection between said driving source and said register roller means; and means for controlling said first clutch means to start the driving connection thereof, and for controlling said second clutch means to stop the driving connection thereof after starting the driving connection of said first clutch means wherein said control of said first and second clutch means is continued until the leading edge of said copy medium is stopped by engaging the undriven registering roller means, and for subsequently controlling said first clutch means to cease driving the feeding roller means and said second clutch means to start driving said registering roller means; and delay means for maintaining the driving of said registering roller means by said second clutch means for a predetermined time period after the commencement of feeding of a next successive copy medium, wherein at the conclusion of said time period said second clutch interrupts the driving of the register rollers to stop said next succeeding copy medium as its leading edge engages said undriven registering roller means.
