Claims
- 1. A device for setting and storing a plurality of copying magnification values in an electrophotographic copying apparatus that can be powered by an electrical source for copying operation, said device comprising:
- operator means for manually inputting a numerical value (M) that is a copying magnification value;
- a plurality of memory means (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N) connected to the operator means, each capable of storing said numerical value (M) inputted by the operator and maintaining the stored numerical value (M) regardless of any on-off status of said electrical source;
- selection key means for selecting any one of said plurality of memory means (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N), and
- control means for memorizing the numerical value (M) inputted by the operator in said one of said memory means (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N) selected by said selection key means, said control means setting an operation mode of said copying apparatus such that the numerical value (M) memorized in one of said memory means selected by said selection key means will always be the same copying magnification value (M) inputted by the operator and will be capable of controlling a copying operation.
- 2. The device as defined in claim 1, further including a mode switching means for switching a control mode of said copying apparatus to a copying magnification setting mode with said memory means, and said control means being so related with said memory means so that said memory means is capable of memorizing said numerical value input by said numerical value input means in said copying magnification setting mode.
- 3. The device as defined in claim 2, further including display means for displaying said value input by said numerical value input means, said display means being so controlled as to be cleared upon switching to said copying magnification setting mode by said mode switching means to be in a standby condition for receiving an input from said numerical value input means.
- 4. The device as defined in claim 1, wherein said memory means comprises a first group of memory locations in which a numerical value of a predetermined copying magnification value is memorized in advance during manufacturing, and a second group of memory locations in which no numerical value is memorized during manufacturing.
- 5. The device as defined in claim 4, further including a preset means for presetting a predetermined value in said first group of memory locations.
- 6. The device as defined in claim 1, wherein said selection key means are provided respectively in correspondence to said memory means.
- 7. The device as defined in claim 6, wherein said preset means includes operation means for enabling variable combinations of values to be memorized in said memory means.
- 8. The device as defined in claim 1, wherein said selection key means have one operation key, said operation key being so related with said memory means that said selection key means successively select said memory means by operation of said operation key.
- 9. A copying apparatus comprising:
- an operation panel including print key means for inputting a copy start command, a numerical value input key means for inputting a numerical value, and display means for displaying the numerical value input by said numerical value input key means;
- main housing including a valuable magnification mechanism for projecting an image of the original onto a photosensitive member at a desired copy magnification, sheet feeding means for feeding a copy sheet, and image forming means for forming the visual image on the copy sheet corresponding to the image projected onto the photosensitive member;
- memory means for storing a numerical value;
- first control means for storing the numerical value input by said numerical value input key means;
- second control means for calling the numerical value stored in said memory means;
- third control means for controlling said valuable magnification mechanism such that the numerical value called from the memory means is the copy magnification;
- fourth control means, responsive to said copy start command input by said print key means, for initiating the operation of the image forming means, and
- a first CPU and a second CPU, said first CPU including said first control means, said second control means, and said fourth control means, said second CPU including said third control means.
- 10. A copying apparatus as claimed in claim 9, further comprising a communication line connected between said first and second CPUs by which said first and second CPUs communicate with each other.
- 11. A copying apparatus comprising:
- key input means for manually inputting a numerical value (M) representing a copying magnification;
- a data storage means having a plurality of memory locations (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N);
- selection key means for selecting one of said plurality of memory locations (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N);
- mode selection means for selecting a magnification storing mode and a magnification recalling mode;
- first control means, operable in said magnification storing mode, for storing said numerical value (M) input by said numerical value input means in one of said memory locations (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N) selected by said selection key means;
- second control means, operable in said magnification recalling mode, for recalling the numerical value (M) stored in one of said memory locations (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N) selected by said selection key means, and
- third control means for setting an operation mode of said copying apparatus such that the recalled numerical value (M) is the copying magnification value.
- 12. A copying apparatus as claimed in claim 11, further comprising:
- numerical value display means for displaying the numerical value (M) input by said key input means in the magnification storing mode.
- 13. A copying apparatus as claimed in claim 12, wherein said numerical value display means displays the recalled numerical value (M) recalled in the magnification recalling mode.
- 14. A copying apparatus comprising:
- key input means for manually inputting a numerical value signifying a copying magnification;
- a data storage means having a plurality of memory locations;
- selection key means for selecting one of said plurality of memory locations;
- mode selection means for selecting a magnification storing mode and a magnification recalling mode;
- first control means, operable in said magnification storing mode, for storing said numerical value input by said numerical value input means in one of said memory locations selected by said selection key means;
- second control means, operable in said magnification recalling mode, for recalling the numerical value stored in one of said memory locations selected by said selection key means;
- third control means for setting an operation mode of said copying apparatus such that the recalled numerical value directly corresponds to a copying magnification value, and
- a first CPU and a second CPU, said first CPU including said first control means and second control means, said second CPU including said third control means.
- 15. A copying apparatus as claimed in claim 14, further comprising a communication line connected between said first and second CPUs by which said first and second CPUs communicate with each other.
- 16. A copying apparatus comprising:
- means for manually inputting a numerical value (M) representing a copying magnification;
- a data storage means having a plurality of memory locations (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N);
- a plurality of manually operable keys, each corresponding to predetermined memory locations (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N);
- mode selection means for selecting a magnification storing mode and a magnification recalling mode;
- first control means, operable in response to actuation of one of said keys in said magnification storing mode, for storing said numerical value (M) input by said numerical value input means in one of said memory locations (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N) corresponding to the actuated key;
- second control means, operable in response to actuation of one of said keys in said magnification recalling mode, for recalling the numerical value (M) stored in one of said memory locations (Q.sub.1 -Q.sub.N) corresponding to the actuated key, and
- third control means for setting an operation mode of said copying apparatus such that the recalled numerical value (M) is the copying magnification value.
- 17. A copying apparatus comprising:
- means for forming an image of an original to be copied on copying paper;
- a plurality of copy magnification selection keys, each of which is assigned to a predetermined numerical value;
- display means for displaying numerical values when any one of said copy magnification selection keys is operated so as to display the numerical value corresponding to the operated copy magnification selection key;
- an up key;
- a down key;
- means, operatively connected to said up key and said down key, for varying the numerical value in such a manner that the contents of the display are either increased or decreased by a predetermined value in response to the operation of said up key or said down key, and
- control means for controlling said image forming means so that the numerical value displayed on the display means is a ratio of the size of the image of the original to the size of the image of the copy paper.
- 18. A copying apparatus as claimed in claim 17, further comprising an operation panel on which said up key, said down key, said magnification selection keys, and said display means are arranged.
- 19. A copying apparatus comprising:
- image forming means for forming an image of an original document at an arbitrary magnification ratio;
- data storage means including a plurality of storage areas, each of which is capable of storing a predetermined numerical value;
- means for selecting one of said storage areas;
- display means, responsive to said selecting means, for displaying the numerical value stored in the selected storage area;
- varying means for manually increasing or decreasing the numerical value displayed on said display means by a predetermined value, and
- control means for controlling said image forming means so that the numerical value displayed on said display means is the magnification ratio.
- 20. A copying apparatus comprising:
- image forming means for forming an image of an original document at an arbitrary magnification ratio;
- means for generating a numerical value;
- display means, electrically connected to said generating means and stationarily provided on an operation panel of the copying machine, for displaying the numerical value generated by said generating means;
- varying means, electrically connected to said display means and provided on said operation panel, for manually increasing or decreasing the numerical value displayed on said display means by a predetermined value, and
- control means for controlling said image forming means so that the numerical value displayed on said display means is the magnification ratio.
- 21. A copying apparatus comprising:
- a magnification varying mechanism including a movable optical element and a stepping motor for positioning said movable optical element;
- means for manually inputting a numerical value signifying a copying magnification;
- data storage means;
- mode selection means for selecting a magnification storing mode and a magnification recalling mode;
- first control means, operable in said magnification storing mode, for storing said numerical value input by said numerical value input means in said data storage means;
- second control means, operable in said magnification recalling mode, for recalling the numerical value stored in one of said memory locations selected by said selection key means, and
- third control means for operating said stepping motor based on the recalled numerical value so that said magnification varying mechanism realizes a copying magnification equal to said recalled numerical value.
