Claims
- 1. A device for setting a copying magnification in an electrophotographic apparatus, said device comprising:
- means for manually inputting a numerical value;
- data storage means for storing numerical data, connected to the inputting means;
- operation means, connected to the data storage means, for instructing to store the numerical value data entered by said inputting means; and
- control means, connected to the data storage means, for producing a control signal for adjusting the projecting magnification of an optical system of the copying machine with accompanying mechanical movement of the optical system based on the magnification data stored on the data storage means simultaneously with the operation of storing said entered numerical value data in the data storage means.
- 2. The device according to claim 1, wherein said mechanical movement includes a movement of a projection lens, said projection lens is adapted to be moved by a stepping motor in association with a displacing mechanism which is adapted to be displaced along a predetermined path and said control signal of the control means is a signal representing a number of steps of rotation of the stepping motor calculated by reference to the data representing an actual position of the projection lens and said numerical value data.
- 3. The device according to claim 1 further comprising display means for displaying the entered numeric value by said inputting means and said control means acts to prohibit the generation of said control signal based on said displayed numeric value for setting the projection magnification until said entered numerical value is stored in said storage means despite the fact that the entered numerical value is displayed in said display means.
- 4. A device for setting a copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus comprising:
- means for manually inputting a numerical value;
- display means, connected to the inputting means, having a predetermined number of display digits for displaying said entered numerical value on said predetermined number of digits;
- memory means, connected to the inputting means, having a plurality of memory location for storing numerical values each having a plurality of digits at least equal to said number of the display digits;
- operation means, connected to the memory means, for initiating the storage of the entered numerical value data displayed in the display means in said data storage means;
- data selecting means, connected to the memory means, for selecting one of the numerical data stored in said data storage means; and
- control means, connected to the display means, for taking the predetermined number of digits of the selected numeric data as the copying magnification data and for displaying said selected numeric data on the display means.
- 5. The device according to claim 4, wherein said control means acts to display the selected numeric value data only when said data selecting means is operated.
- 6. The device according to claims 4 or 5, wherein said display means maintain its display until said operation means is operated to initiate the storage of the entered numerical value data in the case where said display means displays the entered numeric value data by the operation of the inputting means.
- 7. A device for setting a copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus, said device comprising:
- means for manually inputting a numerical value;
- display means, connected to the inputting means, having a predetermined number of display digits and operates to display said entered numeric value sequentially;
- display control means, connected to the display means, for controlling the display on the display means in such a manner that in a case where the numeric value entered first is other than 0 or 1, the entered numeric value is displayed from the second most significant digit toward the least significant digit of the display digits with 0 being displayed at the most significant digit of the display means;
- data storage means, connected to the inputting means, for storing said displayed numeric value data; and
- magnification control means, connected to the data storage means, for controlling the copying magnification of the copying apparatus based on the numeric value data stored in the data storage means.
- 8. The device according to claim 7, wherein when the numeric value data are entered in all of the display digits, the display control means disables that part of the entered numeric value data which exceeds the display digits.
- 9. The device according to claim 7, wherein when the memory operating means is operated, the display means displays said minimum value.
- 10. A device for setting copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus, said device comprising:
- means for manually inputting numeric data;
- display means, connected to the inputting means, having a predetermined number of display digits for displaying sequentially the numeric data entered by the inputting means from the most significant digit of the numeric data;
- means, connected to the inputting means, for detecting the place of each digit of the numeric data being entered;
- means, connected to the detecting means, for disabling one or more digits of the numeric data which are entered after the least significant digit of the display digits is entered; and
- means, connected to the display means, for controlling the copying magnification based on the numeric value data displayed in the display means.
- 11. The device according to claim 10, wherein said device further comprises mode changing means for changing the control mode of the copying apparatus to the copying magnification setting mode and the mode changing means is associated with the display means so that when the numeric data inputting means is operated under the magnification setting mode, the numeric value data displayed in the display means can be taken in the control means as the copying magnification.
- 12. A device for setting copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus comprising:
- numeric data display means for displaying a numeric value having a predetermined number of digits;
- means, connected to the display means, for entering the numeric value so as to change the numeric value displayed on the numeric data display means when said entering means is operated;
- first memory means, connected to the entering means, for storing numeric data;
- memory operating means, connected to the disk first memory means, for effecting to store the numeric data of the numeric data display means in the first memory means;
- second memory means for storing an available copying magnification range of the copying apparatus;
- memory control means for judging whether or not the displayed numeric value data is out of the copying magnification range when the operating means is operated and for prohibiting the storage of the displayed numeric value data in the first memory means if the displayed numeric value data is out of the copying magnification range; and
- means, connected to the second memory means, for controlling the copying magnification based on the numeric value data stored in the second memory means.
- 13. The device according to claim 12, said second memory means stores the maximum magnification and minimum magnification as the available copying magnification range data.
- 14. The device according to claim 12 or 13, wherein when said memory operating means is operated under such a condition that the displayed numeric value data is out of the available magnification range, said memory control means acts to store a possible numeric value data within said available magnification range in the first memory means.
- 15. The device according to claim 14, wherein when the memory operation means is operated, the displayed numeric value data can be changed corresponding to the value stored in the second memory means.
- 16. The device according to claim 12 or 13, wherein when the memory operating means is operated under the condition that the displayed numeric value data is greater than the maximum value of the available magnification range, said memory control means acts to store the maximum value of the available magnification range in the first memory means.
- 17. The device according to claim 16, wherein when the memory operating means is operated, the display means displays said maximum value.
- 18. The device according to claim 12 or 13, wherein when the memory operating means is operated under the condition that the displayed numeric value datais smaller than the minimum value of the available magnification range, said memory control means acts to store the minimum value of the available magnification range in the first memory means.
- 19. A device for setting a copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus, having at least two control modes, comprising:
- numeric data input means for entering a numeric value;
- display means, connected to the inputting means, for displaying said numeric data entered by the numeric data input means;
- switching means for changing over the control modes of the copying apparatus between a first control mode and a second control mode; and
- control means for causing the switching means to be associated with the display means so as to use the numeric value data displayed on the display means as the consecutive copying number when the switching means is in the first mode and to use the displayed data as the copying magnification when the switching means is in the second mode.
- 20. The device according to claim 19, further comprises memory means for storing the copying magnification in the form of numeric data having a predetermined number of digits and operating means for effecting the storage of the displayed numeric data in the memory means so that, only when the operating means is operated, the display data can be stored in the memory means under the second control mode.
- 21. The device according to claim 19, the display means is substantially set to the mode for displaying the copying number when the second control mode is disabled.
- 22. A device for setting a copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus comprising:
- data storage means having a plurality of memory address locations for storing a plurality of numeric value data each having predetermined digits;
- an operating key, connected to the data storage means, for selecting one of the numeric value data stored in the storage means;
- address means, connected to the operating key, which changes the output value by the operation of the operation key;
- means, connected to the address means, for causing said address means to be associated with the data storage means and reading the numeric value data stored in the data storage means each time when said operation key is operated; and
- control means, connected to the causing means, for controlling the copying magnification based on the read numeric data.
- 23. The device according to claim 22, wherein when said operation key is operated and the numeric data is read, the numeric data thus read is displayed on display means.
- 24. The device accordingly to claim 23, wherein said display means displays the copying magnification only when the operation key is operated.
- 25. The device according to claim 22, said address means acts in such a manner that when the final address location is addressed by the operation of the operation key, the subsequent operation of the operation key causes the addressing of the first address location.
- 26. The device according to claims 22 or 25, wherein said address means comprises a counter for counting the operation of the operation means.
- 27. A device for setting a copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus comprising:
- means for inputting numeric value data having a predetermined number of digits;
- data storage means, connected to the inputting means, for storing copying magnification data;
- mode changing means, connected to the data storage means, for changing the control mode of the copying apparatus into a particular mode for setting the copying magnification so as to store the numeric value data in said data storage means; and
- control means, connected to the data storage means, for enabling said data storage means only when said copying apparatus is set in said particular mode to store the numeric value data entered by the data inputting means in the data storage means.
- 28. The device according to claim 27, wherein said control means is provided with a flag for detecting the control mode, the state of said flag being changed when the mode changing means is operated, and when the numeric value data is entered in the inputting means, the control means judges the state of the flag, then effects the storage of the entered numeric value data in the data storage means.
- 29. The device according to claim 27, further comprising means for judging whether the copying apparatus is executing the copying operation and the change of the control mode to the particular mode for setting the magnification value data can be made only when the copying apparatus is not in the copying operation.
- 30. A device for setting a copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus comprising:
- input key means for increasing or decreasing entered numeric value data by a predetermined value;
- data storage means, connected to the input key means, for storing numeric value data;
- numeric value control means, connected to the input key means, for increasing or decreasing said numeric value data at a predetermined interval of time until the signal from said input key means disappears and so long as the input key means is operated;
- means, connected to the data storage means, for effecting the storage of the numeric value data defined by the operation of the input key means in said data storage means; and
- means, connected to the data storage means, for controlling the copying magnification based on the numeric value data stored in the data storage means.
- 31. A device for setting a copying magnification in an electrophotographic copying apparatus comprising:
- input key means for increasing or decreasing entered numeric value data by a predetermined value;
- data storage means, connected to the input key means, for storing numeric value data;
- means, connected to the data storage means, for storing the maximum value and minimum value stored in the data storage means;
- numeric value control means, connected to the storing means, for limiting the entered numeric value data so as not to increase or decrease the numeric value data when the increased or decreased numeric value data reaches the maximum or minimum value;
- means, connected to the data storage means, for effecting the storage of the entered numeric value data in said data storage means; and
- means, connected to the data storage means, for controlling the copying magnification based on the numeric value data stored in the data storage means.
