Claims
- 1. In an image recording element having a support base layer, a light-sensitive layer and an antistat layer, the improvement which comprises employing as the antistat layer a cross-linked conductive polymer comprising the reaction product of a water-soluble electrically conductive polymer having functionally attached hydroxyl groups, said water-soluble electrically conductive polymer containing from about 25 to about 50 mol of hydroxyl containing moieties and being an addition product for (1) an ammonium or alkali metal salt of a vinylbenzene sulfonic acid and (2) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing at least one primary hydroxyl group and a methoxyalkylmelamine.
- 2. The image recording element of claim 1 wherein the vinylbenzene sulfonic acid is styrene sulfonic acid.
- 3. The image recording element of claim 1 wherein the methoxyalkylmelamine is present in an amount of from about 20 to about 75 percent by weight.
- 4. The image recording element of claim 1 wherein the methoxyalkylmelamine is present in an amount of from about 20 to about 75 percent by weight.
- 5. The image recording element of claim 1 wherein the methoxyalkylmelamine has from 3 to 6 methoxy groups.
- 6. The image recording element of claim 1 wherein the methoxyalkylmelamine is an hexamethoxyalkylmelamine.
- 7. In an image recording element having a support base layer, a light-sensitive layer and an antistat layer, the improvement which comprises employing as the antistat layer a cross-linked conductive polymer comprising the reaction product of a water-soluble electrically conductive polymer having functionally attached hydroxyl groups and being an addition product of (1) an ammonium or alkali metal salt of a vinylbenzene sulfonic acid and (2) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing at least one primary hydroxyl group and a methoxyalkylmelamine and from about 20 to about 50 percent by weight of an hydroxyl containing binder polymer.
- 8. The image recording element of claim 7 wherein the vinylbenzene sulfonic acid is styrene sulfonic acid.
- 9. The image recording element of claim 7 wherein the methoxyalkylmelamine is present in an amount of from about 20 to about 75 percent by weight.
- 10. The image recording element of claim 7 wherein the methoxyalkylmelamine is present in an amount of from about 20 to about 75 percent in weight.
- 11. The image recording element of claim 7 wherein the methoxyalkylmelamine has from 3 to 6 methoxy groups.
- 12. The image recording element of claim 7 wherein the methoxyalkylmelamine is an hexamethoxyalkylmelamine.
