Claims
- 1. An automated method for checking focus camera longitudinal separation in a system including a primary camera and at least two focus cameras, the automated method comprising the steps of:
- a) performing at least one focus pan over an image primitive for each of the primary camera and each of the at least two focus cameras;
- b) at a best focus position, calculating a focus longitudinal separation measure for each camera; and
- c) comparing that separation against predetermined limits.
- 2. The automated method of claim 1 wherein the at least two focus cameras further comprise a plus focus camera and a minus focus camera.
- 3. The method of claim 1 further comprising the steps of:
- (a) checking a mean illumination level for each of the at least two focus cameras against limits; and
- (b) checking a coefficient of variation of the illumination for each of the at least two focus cameras against limits.
- 4. An automated method for checking focus camera lateral separation in a system including a primary camera and at least two focus cameras, the automated method comprising the steps of:
- a) performing at least one focus pan over an image primitive for each of the primary camera and each of the at least two focus cameras; and
- b) at a best focus position, calculating a focus lateral separation measure for each camera.
- 5. The automated method of claim 4 wherein the at least two focus cameras further comprise a plus focus camera and a minus focus camera.
- 6. The method of claim 4 further comprising the steps of:
- (a) checking a mean illumination level for each of the at least two focus cameras against limits; and
- (b) checking a coefficient of variation of the illumination for each of the at least two focus cameras against limits.
- 7. An automated method for checking focus camera angular separation in a system including a primary camera and at least two focus cameras, the automated method comprising the steps of:
- a) performing at least one focus pan over an image primitive for each of the primary camera and each of the at least two focus cameras; and
- b) at a best focus position, calculating a focus angular separation measure for each camera.
- 8. The automated method of claim 7 wherein the at least two focus cameras further comprise a plus focus camera and a minus focus camera.
- 9. The method of claim 7 further comprising the steps of:
- (a) checking a mean illumination level for each of the at least two focus cameras against limits; and
- (b) checking a coefficient of variation of the illumination for each of the at least two focus cameras against limits.
