Claims
- 1. A data processing emulation support apparatus for detecting a data processing condition indicated by a predetermined number of digital data processing signals, comprising:
an input for receiving said digital data processing signals; and a lookup table coupled to said input, said lookup table programmable according to how said digital data processing signals indicate said data processing condition for determining in response to said digital data processing signals whether said data processing condition exists.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, including a register coupled to said lookup table for programming said lookup table.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said lookup table includes a multiplexer having a plurality of inputs, said register having a plurality of data storage locations respectively coupled to said multiplexer inputs.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said lookup table is programmable to produce a desired output in response to any combination of digital values received at said input thereof.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1, including a plurality of said inputs and a plurality of said lookup tables respectively coupled to said inputs, each of said lookup tables having an output, and further including a logic circuit having a plurality of inputs respectively coupled to said lookup table outputs, said logic circuit having an output responsive to said inputs thereof for providing an indication of whether a predetermined combination of data processing conditions exists.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 5, wherein said logic circuit is an OR gate.
- 7. A method of detecting a data processing condition indicated by a predetermined number of digital data processing signals, comprising:
programming a lookup table according to how said digital data processing signals indicate said data processing condition; applying the digital data processing signals to the lookup table; and the lookup table determining in response to the digital data processing signals whether said data processing condition exists.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein said programming step includes loading digital data values into a register coupled to said lookup table.
- 9. The method of claim 7, wherein said programming step includes programming the lookup table to produce a desired output in response to any combination of digital values applied thereto.
- 10. The method of claim 9, wherein said programming step includes creating a truth table.
