Claims
- 1. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a one-component developer to which silica particles are added;
- triboelectrically charging the one-component developer to a polarity for developing the electrostatic latent image;
- forming a layer of the one-component developer on the developer carrying member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the one-component developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 2. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a one-component developer to which a fluidity improving agent is added;
- triboelectrically charging the one-component developer to a polarity for developing the electrostatic latent image;
- forming a layer of the one-component developer on the developer carrying member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the one-component developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 3. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a one-component developer to which silica particles are added;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the one-component developer by a regulating member in contact with the developer carrying member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the one-component developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 4. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a one-component developer to which a fluidity improving agent is added;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the one-component developer by a regulating member in contact with the developer carrying member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the one-component developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 5. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying a one-component magnetic developer to which silica particles are added, to a non-magnetic rotatable developer carrying member, a magnet being disposed in the developer carrying member;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the one-component magnetic developer by a magnetic member disposed close to the rotatable member, the magnet member being disposed across the rotatable member from a magnetic pole of the magnet;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the one-component magnetic developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 6. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying a one-component magnetic developer to which a fluidity improving agent is added, to a non-magnetic rotatable developer carrying member, a magnet being disposed in the developer carrying member;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the one-component magnetic developer by a magnetic member disposed close to the rotatable member, the magnetic member being disposed across the rotatable member from a magnetic pole of the magnet;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the one-component magnetic developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 7. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying a one-component magnetic developer to which silica particles are added, to a non-magnetic rotatable developer carrying member, a magnet being disposed in the developer carrying member;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the one-component magnetic developer by a regulating member;
- triboelectrically charging the one-component magnetic developer to a polarity for developing the electrostatic latent image;
- facing, at a developing position where the magnet forms a magnetic field, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the one-component magnetic developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 8. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying a one-component magnetic developer to which a fluidity improving agent is added, to a non-magnetic rotatable developer carrying member, a magnet being disposed in the developer carrying member;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the one-component magnetic developer by a regulating member;
- triboelectrically charging the one-component magnetic developer to a polarity for developing the electrostatic latent image;
- facing, at a developing position where the magnet forms a magnetic field, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the one-component magnetic developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 9. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a dry developer to which silica particles are added;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the developer by a regulating member in contact with the developer carrying member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 10. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a dry developer to which a fluidity improving agent is added;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the developer by a regulating member in contact with the developer carrying member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 11. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying a dry developer containing magnetic particles, to which silica particles are added, to a non-magnetic rotatable developer carrying member containing a magnet therein;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the developer by a regulating member disposed close to the rotatable member;
- facing, at a developing position where the magnet forms a magnetic field, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 12. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a dry developer to which a fluidity improving agent is added;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the developer by a regulating member in contact with the developer carrying member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 13. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a dry developer to which silica particles are added;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the developer by a regulating member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 14. A method according to claim 13, wherein the bias voltage is biased with a DC voltage having a voltage level between a dark potential and a light potential of the electrostatic latent image.
- 15. A method of developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, comprising:
- supplying to a developer carrying member a dry developer to which a fluidity improving agent is added;
- regulating a thickness of a layer of the developer by a regulating member;
- facing, at a developing position, the developer carrying member carrying the layer of the developer toward the image bearing member; and
- applying a bias voltage in which a maximum voltage and a minimum voltage appear periodically, to the developer carrying member facing the image bearing member to develop the electrostatic latent image.
- 16. A method according to claim 15, wherein the bias voltage is biased with a DC voltage having a voltage level between a dark potential and a light potential of the electrostatic latent image.
