Claims
- 1. A device for measuring action force of a wheel comprising:
- a vehicle axle is formed with a hole therein;
- a stress detection sensor is installed in said hole and secured therein through contact between lateral sides of said sensor and an inner surface of said hole;
- said stress detection sensor being an integral unit comprising strain gauges mounted on a cubic plastic base; and
- a signal processing circuit for processing a detection signal from said stress detection sensor.
- 2. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 1 wherein at least one of said holes is disposed in alignment with a stress neutral line of the vehicle axle.
- 3. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 1 wherein in at least one of said holes said stress detection sensor is disposed on a stress neutral line of the vehicle axle.
- 4. A device for measuring action force of a wheel comprising:
- a vehicle axle is formed with holes therein;
- a stress detection sensor installed in each of said holes and secured therein through contact between lateral sides of said sensor and an inner surface of a respective one of said holes; and
- a signal processing circuit for processing a detection signal from each stress sensor to extract a given strain.
- 5. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 4 wherein said stress detection sensor and said signal processing circuit are installed and secured in a same hole of said holes formed in the axle.
- 6. A device for measuring action force of a wheel comprising:
- a vehicle axle with holes extending in horizontal and vertical directions, respectively;
- a stress detection sensor is installed in each of the holes and secured therein through contact between lateral sides of said stress detection sensor and an inner surface of a respective one of said holes; and
- a signal processing circuit for processing a detection signal from said stress detection sensor in each of said holes to extract a road surface friction coefficient.
- 7. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 4 wherein at least one of said stress detection sensor in each of said holes is an integral unit comprising strain gauges mounted on a surface of a cubic plastic base.
- 8. The device for measuring action force of a wheel comprising:
- a vehicle axle is formed with a hole therein;
- a stress detection sensor is installed in said hole and secured therein through contact between lateral sides of said sensor and an inner surface of said hole;
- said stress detection sensor being an integral unit comprising a bar-shaped structure having a planar part at one end thereof and said strain gauges being mounted on said planar part; and
- a signal processing circuit for processing a detection signal from said stress detection sensor.
- 9. The device for measuring action force of a wheel comprising:
- a vehicle axle is formed with a hole therein;
- a stress detection sensor is installed in said hole and secured therein through contact between lateral sides of said sensor and an inner surface of said hole;
- said stress detection sensor being an integral unit comprising a ceramic substrate and strain gauges mounted on said ceramic substrate and coated with an oxide film; and
- a signal processing circuit for processing a detection signal from said stress detection sensor.
- 10. The device for measuring action force of a wheel comprising:
- a vehicle axle is formed with a hole therein;
- a stress detection sensor is installed in said hole and secured therein through contact between lateral sides of said sensor and an inner surface of said hole;
- the stress detection sensor including strain gauges and said strain gauges of the stress detection sensor are installed and secured in said hole in the vehicle axle oriented at an angle of about 45.degree. with respect to horizontal and vertical stress center axes of the vehicle axle; and
- a signal processing circuit for processing a detection signal from said stress detection sensor.
- 11. A device for measuring action force of a wheel comprising:
- a vehicle axle is formed with a hole therein;
- a main stress detection sensor installed in said hole;
- an auxiliary stress detection sensor for detecting a source of strain installed in said hole proximate said main stress detection sensor;
- said auxiliary stress detection sensor and said main stress detection sensor operating to produce corresponding stress detection signals; and
- a signal processing circuit for processing the corresponding stress detection signals to produce an output signal wherein a strain signal corresponding to the source of strain is one of reduced and eliminated.
- 12. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 1 wherein said signal processing circuit consists of a sensor bridge circuit for stress detection and an amplification circuit.
- 13. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 1 wherein said signal processing circuit consists of a sensor bridge circuit for stress detection, an amplification circuit and an operational circuit.
- 14. The device for measuring action force of a wheel claimed in claim 1 wherein said signal processing circuit comprises a sensor bridge circuit for stress detection.
- 15. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 6 wherein in at least one of said holes said stress detection sensor is an integral unit comprising a bar-shaped structure having a planar part at one end with strain gauges mounted thereon.
- 16. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 6 wherein in at least one of said holes said stress detection sensor is an integral unit comprising a ceramic substrate with strain gauges mounted thereon and coated with an oxide film.
- 17. The device for measuring action force of a wheel of claim 4 wherein in at least one of said holes the stress detection sensor comprises strain gauges and said strain gauges of the stress detection sensor are installed and secured in said at least one of said holes in the vehicle axle oriented at an angle of about 45.degree. with respect to horizontal and vertical stress center axes of the vehicle axle.
