Claims
- 1. In a disk cartridge with a case comprising an upper and a lower shell halves for accommodating a disk therein and a writing protection mechanism for preventing new information from being recorded again onto a recorded surface of the disk onto which old information has been already recorded, the improvement in which the mechanism comprises:
- a) a movable plug having a block-like main body held movably in the case, and at least one leg extended from an end face of the main body in a direction where the plug is moved, the leg being flush with one sliding end surface of the main body;
- b) a guide part provided in the case for holding reciprocatingly the main body of the plug therein, the guide part including two separate guide portions, one of which is formed in the upper shell half and the other of which is formed in the lower shell half, each guide portion having a flat wall and an upright wall for surrounding the plug, the flat wall being an inner wall of each of the upper and lower shell halves, defined so as to be surrounded by the upright wall, said upright walls being in registration with each other when the case is assembled;
- c) a projection provided on an inner surface of the upright wall of one of the guide portions for selectively holding the movable plug at two positions in the guide part while cooperating with the leg of the plug;
- d) an opening means which is provided in the flat wall of the guide part so as to be closed and opened when the plug is located at one position and at another position, respectively, and
- e) a raised portion provided on one of the flat walls of the guide part, the other flat wall being in contact with said one sliding end surface of the main body and the leg of the plug when the plug is properly assembled in the guide part, the raised portion having, on the flat wall, one element extended substantially in the direction where the plug is moved and another element extended perpendicular to the direction where the plug is moved.
- 2. A disk cartridge according to claim 1, wherein the raised portion is located at a position where the raised portion does not obstruct a movement of the plug.
- 3. A disk cartridge according to claim 1, wherein a projection is provided on said one sliding end surface of the main body for engaging with the opening means, the projection having a hole into which a tool is inserted to move the plug.
- 4. A disk cartridge according to claim 1, wherein the leg has a stopping piece for engaging with the projection provided on the inner surface of the guide part.
- 5. A disk cartridge according to claim 1, wherein the raised portion has a substantially U-shaped portion having a concave portion towards a side wall of the disk cartridge and distal end portions positioned so that the legs of the plug are stranded on the distal end portions when the plug is improperly assembled in the guide part.
- 6. In a disk cartridge with a case comprising an upper and a lower shell halves for accommodating a disk therein and two writing protection mechanisms for preventing new information from being recorded again onto two recorded surfaces of the disk onto which old information has been already recorded, the improvement in which the mechanism comprises:
- a) two movable plugs each having a block-like main body held movably in the case, and at least one leg extended from an end face of each plug in a direction where the plug is moved, the leg being flush with one sliding end surface of each plug;
- b) two guide parts provided on left and right sides of the case for holding reciprocatingly the main body of each plug therein, each guide part including two divided guide portions, one of which is formed in the upper shell half and the other of which is formed in the lower shell half, each divided guide portion having a flat wall and an upright wall for surrounding the plug, the flat wall being an inner wall of each of the upper and lower shell halves, defined so as to be surrounded by the upright wall, said upright walls being in registration with each other when the case is assembled;
- c) two projections, one of which is provided on an inner surface of the upright wall of one of the upper and lower shell halves for selectively holding the movable plug at two positions while cooperating with the leg of each plug, the other of which is provided on an inner surface of the upright wall of the other of the upper and lower shell halves;
- d) two openings means which are provided in the flat walls of the guide parts so as to be closed and opened when each plug is located at one position and at another position, respectively; and
- e) two raised portions, one of which is provided on the flat wall of the inner wall of the upper shelf half of the left guide part and the other of which is provided on the flat wall of the inner wall of the lower shell half of the right guide part, said flat walls with the raised portion being in contact respectively with another sliding end surface of the main body of the respective plug when the plugs are properly assembled in the guide parts, the two movable plugs being accommodated in the two guide parts in a reversed manner to each other, each raised portion having, on the flat wall, one element extended substantially in the direction where the plug is moved and another element extended perpendicular to the direction where the plug is moved.
- 7. A disk cartridge according to claim 6, wherein each raised portion is located on the flat wall at a position where the raised portion does not obstruct a movement of the plug.
- 8. A disk cartridge according to claim 6, wherein a projection is provided on said one sliding end surface of each main body for engaging with each opening means, the projection having a hole into which a tool is inserted to move the plug.
- 9. A disk cartridge according to claim 6, wherein each of the two raised portions has a substantially U-shaped portion having a concave portion towards a side wall of the disk cartridge and distal end portions positioned so that the legs of the plug are stranded on the distal end portions when the plug is improperly assembled in the guide part.
