Claims
- 1. A DNA construct for the expression of a heterologous DNA sequence in muscle tissue in an animal comprising a muscle specific regulatory element of muscle isozyme of creatine kinase (MCK) consisting of the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 and a heterologous DNA sequence.
- 2. The DNA construct of claim 1, wherein the heterologous DNA sequence codes for an antigen.
- 3. The DNA construct of claim 2, wherein the antigen elicits an immune response against a pathogen or disease selected from the group consisting of viral or bacterial hepatitis, influenza, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, pneumococcus, herpes, respiratory synctial virus, hemophilus influenza type b, chlamydia, varicella-zoster virus or rabies.
