Claims
- 1. An isolated DNA sequence encoding an antimicrobial protein having the amino acid sequence as represented by any one of SEQ ID NO:5, SEQ ID NO:6, SEQ ID NO:7, SEQ ID NO:15 or SEQ ID NO:16.
- 2. An isolated DNA sequence as claimed in claim 1 in which the antimicrobial protein is selected from the group consisting of the proteins Ac-AMP1, Ac-AMP2, Ar-AMP1, Ca-AMP1 and Bm-AMP1.
- 3. An isolated DNA sequence as claimed in claim 1 which is cDNA.
- 4. An isolated DNA sequence as claimed in claim 1 which is genomic DNA.
- 5. An isolated DNA sequence as claimed in claim 4 which is isolated from a plant genome.
- 6. An isolated DNA sequence as claimed in claim 4 which includes a promoter sequence.
- 7. A vector containing a DNA sequence as claimed in claim 1.
- 8. A host cell including an isolated DNA sequence as claimed in claim 1 such that the encoded protein is expressed.
- 9. A host cell as claimed in claim 8 which is a micro-organism.
- 10. A host cell as claimed in claim 8 which is a plant cell.
- 11. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein is Ac-AMP1.
- 12. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein is Ac-AMP2.
- 13. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein is Ar-AMP1.
- 14. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein is Ca-AMP1.
- 15. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein is Bm-AMP1.
- 16. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:5.
- 17. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:6.
- 18. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:7.
- 19. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:15.
- 20. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 1, wherein said antimicrobial protein has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:16.
- 21. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 16 which is cDNA.
- 22. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 17 which is cDNA.
- 23. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 18 which is cDNA.
- 24. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 19 which is cDNA.
- 25. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 20 which is cDNA.
- 26. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 16 which is genomic DNA.
- 27. The isolated DNA sequence of claim 17 which is genomic DNA.
