Claims
- 1. A composition comprising:
- (a) at least one elastomer copolymer comprising ethylene and at least one other alpha olefin, having a weight average molecular weight of at least 20,000 and having at least one of M.sub.w /M.sub.n less than 2 and M.sub.z /M.sub.w less than 1.8, wherein at least two portions of essentially each copolymer chain of said copolymer, each portion comprising at least 5 wt. % of the chain, differ in composition from one another by at least about 5 wt. % ethylene;
- (b) a first plastic composition different from said first plastic composition; and
- (c) a second plastic composition.
- 2. The composition as defined by claim 1 wherein said first plastic composition is polypropylene, and said second plastic composition is polyethylene.
- 3. The composition as defined by claim 1 comprising:
- (a) a continuous phase comprising said first plastic composition; and
- (b) a discontinuous phase comprising said second plastic composition and said at least one copolymer, said discontinuous phase being dispersed within said continuous phase.
- 4. The composition as defined by claim 3 wherein said first plastic composition is polypropylene and said second plastic composition is polyethylene.
- 5. The composition as defined by claim 3 wherein said discontinuous phase comprises particles, substantially each of said particles comprising an inner region of said second plastic composition and an outer region of said at least one copolymer.
- 6. The composition as defined by claim 1 wherein said first plastic composition is polypropylene said second plastic composition is polyethylene, and said at least one copolymer is at least one member selected from the group consisting ethylene-propylene copolymer and ethylene-propylene terpolymer.
- 7. The composition as defined by claim 6 wherein said polypropylene comprises at least approximately 85 wt. % of the blend, said polyethylene comprises approximately 5 wt. % or less by weight of the blend, and said at least one copolymer comprises approximately 10 wt. % or less of the blend.
- 8. The composition as defined by claim 1, wherein said at least one copolymer is an ethylene propylene terpolymer.
- 9. The composition as defined by claim 8 wherein said ethylene propylene terpolymer comprises ethylene propylene and a non-conjugated diene selected from a group consisting of ethylidene norbornene, 1,4-hexadiene, dicyclopentadiene, vinyl norbornene, methylene norbornene, and mixtures thereof.
