Claims
- 1. A receptor for receiving at least a portion of a transfer layer of a donor element by selective thermal transfer, the receptor comprising:
a receptor substrate; an active primer disposed on the receptor substrate; and a transfer assist layer disposed on the active primer.
- 2. The receptor of claim 1, further comprising at least one electrode disposed between the receptor substrate and the active primer.
- 3. The receptor of claim 2, further comprising a buffer layer disposed between the at least one electrode and the active primer.
- 4. The receptor of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of electrodes disposed between the receptor substrate and the active primer.
- 5. The receptor of claim 4, wherein the plurality of electrodes are a plurality of anodes and the active primer comprises hole transport material.
- 6. The receptor of claim 5, wherein the active primer further comprises a binder within which the hole transport material is dispersed.
- 7. The receptor of claim 1, wherein the transfer assist layer comprises radiation absorbers.
- 8. A receptor for receiving at least a portion of a transfer layer of a donor element by selective thermal transfer, the receptor comprising:
a receptor substrate; and a transfer assist layer disposed on the receptor substrate, the transfer assist layer comprising radiation absorbers.
- 9. The receptor of claim 8, further comprising at least one electrode disposed between the receptor substrate and the transfer assist layer.
- 10. The receptor of claim 8, further comprising a buffer layer disposed between the at least one electrode and the transfer assist layer.
- 11. A receptor for receiving at least a portion of a transfer layer of a donor element by selective thermal transfer, the receptor comprising:
a receptor substrate; at least one electrode disposed on the receptor substrate; a buffer layer disposed over the at least one electrode; and an active primer disposed over the buffer layer.
- 12. The receptor of claim 11, wherein the active primer comprises hole transport material.
- 13. The receptor of claim 11, wherein the active primer comprises light emitting material.
- 14. A receptor for receiving at least a portion of a transfer layer of a donor element by selective thermal transfer, the receptor comprising:
a receptor substrate; and an active primer disposed.on the receptor substrate, the active primer comprising a hole transport material dispersed in a binder, the binder selected to promote thermal transfer of the transfer layer to the receptor.
- 15. The receptor of claim 14, further comprising a transfer assist layer disposed on the active primer.
- 16. The receptor of claim 14, further comprising at least one electrode disposed between the receptor substrate and the active primer.
- 17. The receptor of claim 16, further comprising a buffer layer disposed between the at least one electrode and the active primer.
- 18. The receptor of claim 17, wherein the transfer assist layer comprises radiation absorbers.
- 19. A receptor for receiving at least a portion of a transfer layer of a donor element by selective thermal transfer, the receptor comprising:
a receptor substrate; and an active primer disposed on the receptor substrate, the active primer comprising a light emitting material dispersed in a binder, the binder selected to promote thermal transfer of the transfer layer to the receptor.
- 20. The receptor of claim 19, further comprising a transfer assist layer disposed on the active primer.
- 21. The receptor of claim 20, further comprising at least one electrode disposed between the receptor substrate and the active primer.
- 22. The receptor of claim 21, further comprising a buffer layer disposed between the at least one electrode and the active primer.
- 23. The receptor of claim 22, wherein the transfer assist layer comprises radiation absorbers.
