Claims
- 1. An electrophotographic copying apparatus including a photosensitive element, an object document, means for providing a light image of said object document, means for conveying said light image to said photosensitive element and means for transferring said light image from said photosensitive element to a receptor sheet, comprising:
- light mask means interposed between said object document and said photosensitive element for preventing a portion of said light image from reaching said photosensitive element so that less than all of said light image of said object document is transferred to said receptor sheet.
- 2. An electrophotographic copying aparatus according to claim 1 wherein said photosensitive element includes a planar image area where said light image strikes said photosensitive element, with said image area corresponding in size and shape to said receptor sheet, and wherein said light mask means is a substantially opaque shield disposed adjacent said photosensitive element and defining an aperture in register with said light image, said aperture being smaller than said receptor sheet such that said shield blocks that portion of said light image which corresponds to a marginal strip at each edge of said receptor sheet.
- 3. An electrophotographic copying apparatus according to claim 2 wherein said light image conveyed to said photosensitive element is about 12 to 14 mm shorter and narrower than the length and width of said receptor sheet.
