Claims
- 1. A copying apparatus comprising:
- means for transporting a copy material along a transport path;
- means, located in said path, for detecting the presence of the copy material;
- means for presetting a first copy mode or a second copy mode;
- means for producing timing signals at regular intervals during a multiple copying operation:
- jam detecting means, responsive to said detecting means and said timing signal producing means, for detecting a jammed copy material by discriminating the presence of the copy material at said detecting means in response to the timing signals, produced at a first interval, in the first copy mode and in response to the timing signals, produced at a second interval in the second copy mode different from the first interval and for producing an output signal in response to the said jam detection.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said copy modes relate to original scanning methods.
- 3. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a rotatable medium;
- means for forming an image on said rotatable medium and transferring the image onto a transfer material;
- means for transporting the transfer material along a transport path;
- means, located in said path, for detecting the presence of the transfer material;
- means for presetting a first size mode or a second size mode;
- means for producing timing signals, on the basis of the rotation of said rotatable medium, at a regular interval;
- jam detecting means, responsive to said detecting means and said timing signal producing means, for detecting a jammed material by discriminating the presence of the transfer material at said detecting means in response to the timing signals produced at the first regular interval, in the first size mode and in response to the timing signals, produced at the second regular interval, in the second size mode and for producing an output signal in response to the jam detection.
- 4. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- means for transporting a sheet material along a transport path;
- means, located in said path, for detecting the presence of the material;
- means for presetting a first size mode or a second size mode;
- means for producing timing signals at an interval during a repetition of image formations;
- jam detecting means, responsive to said detecting means and said timing signal producing means, for detecting a jammed material by discriminating the presence of the material at said detecting means in response to the timing signals, produced at a first interval, in the first size mode and in response to the timing signals, produced at a second interval in the second size mode different from the first interval and for producing an output signal in response to the jam detection.
