Claims
- 1. An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising an electrically conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, wherein said photosensitive layer contains at least one member selected from the group consisting of compounds of the following formulas (I), (II) and (III): ##STR43## wherein X is a hydrogen atom or a group of --CR.sup.6 .dbd.C(R.sup.7)R.sup.8 ; each of Ar.sup.1 and Ar.sup.2 which may be the same or different, is an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of Ar.sup.3 and Ar.sup.4 which may be the same or different, is an arylene group which may have substituents, or a bivalent heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents (provided that when either one of R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, the other is an aryl group or a heterocyclic group, and also that when either one of R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, the other is an aryl group or a heterocyclic group); each of R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an alkoxy group which may have substituents, or a substituted amino group; dotted line 1 indicates that Ar.sup.1 may bond as shown by the dotted line to the aromatic group bonded to the nitrogen atom to form a structure of the formula (A-III) or (A-IV), dotted line 2 indicates that Ar.sup.2 may bond as shown by the dotted line to the aromatic group bonded to the nitrogen atom to form a structure of the formula (A-V) or (A-VI), dotted line 3 indicates that Ar.sup.3 may bond as shown by the dotted line to the aromatic group bonded to the nitrogen atom to form a structure of the formula (A-VII) or (A-VIII), and dotted line 4 indicates that Ar.sup.4 may bond as shown by the dotted line to the aromatic group bonded to the nitrogen atom to form a structure of the formula (A-IX) or (A-X): ##STR44## wherein Q.sup.1 is any one of the groups of the following formulas (B-III), (B-VI) and (B-VII); Q.sup.2 is any one of the groups of the following formula (B-VI), (B-VII) and (B-VIII): ##STR45## Y.sup.1 is an aliphatic linking group which may have substituents, and the main chain of the linking group may contain an oxygen atom or a carbon-carbon double bond; each of Ar.sup.5 and Ar.sup.6 which may be the same or different, is an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of R.sup.11, R.sup.12, R.sup.13, R.sup.14, R.sup.15 and R.sup.19 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group which may have substituents, or a substituted amino group; each of R.sup.16 and R.sup.18 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of R.sup.17 and R.sup.20 which may be the same or different, is an aryl group which may have substituents, a heterocyclic group which may have substituents, or an alkyl group which may have substituents (when R.sup.17 or R.sup.20 is an alkyl group, R.sup.17 or R.sup.20 may be bonded to a benzene ring as indicated by the dotted line); dotted line 5 indicates that the two phenyl groups bonded to the same nitrogen atom may bond as shown by the dotted line to form a structure of the following formula (B-IX) or (B-XI), and dotted line 6 indicates that the two phenyl groups bonded to the same nitrogen atom may bond as shown by the dotted line to form a structure of the following formula (B-X) or (B-XII): ##STR46## wherein Q.sup.3 is any one of the groups of the following formulas (C-II), (C-V) and (C-VI); Q.sup.4 is any one of the groups of the following formulas (C-V), (C-VI) and (C-VII): ##STR47## Y.sup.2 is an arylene group which may have substituents, or a bivalent heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of Ar.sup.7, Ar.sup.9, R.sup.26 and R.sup.28 which may be the same or different, is an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of Ar.sup.8 and Ar.sup.10 which may be the same or different, is an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of R.sup.21, R.sup.22, R.sup.25 and R.sup.27 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an alkoxy group which may have substituents, or a substituted amino group; each of R.sup.23 and R.sup.24 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents (when R.sup.26 or R.sup.28 is an alkyl group, R.sup.26 or R.sup.28 may be bonded to a benzene ring as indicated by the dotted line); dotted line 7 indicates that Ar.sup.8 may bond to the benzene ring to which R.sup.21 is bonded, as shown by the dotted line to form a structure of the following formula (C-VIII) or (C-IX), and dotted line 8 indicates that Ar.sup.10 may bond to the benzene ring to which R.sup.22 is bonded, as shown by the dotted line to form a structure of the following formula (C-X) or (C-XI): ##STR48## and each of m and n is an integer of 0 or 1 and m+n.gtoreq.1.
- 2. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to claim 1, wherein the photosensitive layer contains a compound of the above formula (I).
- 3. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to claim 2, wherein in the compound of the formula (I), each of Ar.sup.1 and Ar.sup.2 is a phenyl group which may have substituents and each of Ar.sup.3 and Ar.sup.4 is a phenylene or naphthylene group which may have substituents.
- 4. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to claim 1, wherein the photosensitive layer comprises a carrier generation layer and a carrier transport layer containing at least one member selected from the group consisting of compounds of the above formulas (I), (II) and (III).
- 5. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to claim 4, wherein the carrier transport layer comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of compounds of the above formulas (I), (II) and (III) and a binder.
- 6. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to claim 1, wherein the photosensitive layer comprises photoconductive particles capable of generating electric charge carriers and at least one member selected from the group consisting of compounds of the above formulas (I), (II) and (III), incorporated in a binder.
- 7. An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising an electrically conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, wherein said photosensitive layer contains a compound of the formula (II): ##STR49## wherein Q.sup.1 is any one of the groups of the following formulas (B-III), (B-VI) and (B-VII); Q.sup.2 is any one of the groups of the following formulas (B-VI), (B-VII) and (B-VIII): ##STR50## Y.sup.1 is an aliphatic linking group which may have substituents, and the main chain of the linking group may contain an oxygen atom or a carbon-carbon double bond; each of Ar.sup.5 and Ar.sup.6 which may be the same or different, is an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of R.sup.11, R.sup.12, R.sup.13, R.sup.14, R.sup.15 and R.sup.19 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group which may have substituents, or a substituted amino group; each of R.sup.16 and R.sup.18 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of R.sup.17 and R.sup.20 which may be the same or different, is an aryl group which may have substituents, a heterocyclic group which may have substituents, or an alkyl group which may have substituents (when R.sup.17 or R.sup.20 is an alkyl group, R.sup.17 or R.sup.20 may be bonded to a benzene ring as indicated by the dotted line); dotted line 5 indicates that the two phenyl groups bonded to the same nitrogen atom may bond as shown by the dotted line to form a structure of the following formula (B-IX) or (B-XI), and dotted line 6 indicates that the two phenyl groups bonded to the same nitrogen atom may bond as shown by the dotted line to form a structure of the following formula (B-X) or (B-XII): ##STR51##
- 8. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to claim 7, wherein in the compound of the formula (II), each of Ar.sup.5 and Ar.sup.6 is a phenyl group which may have substituents.
- 9. An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising an electrically conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, wherein said photosensitive layer contains a compound of the formula (III): ##STR52## wherein Q.sup.3 is any one of the groups of the following formulas (C-II), (C-V) and (C-VI); Q.sup.4 is any one of the groups of the following formulas (C-V), (C-VI) and (C-VII): ##STR53## Y.sup.2 is an arylene group which may have substituents, or a bivalent heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of Ar.sup.7, Ar.sup.9, R.sup.26, and R.sup.28 which may be the same or different, is an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of Ar.sup.8 and Ar.sup.10 which may be the same or different, is an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents; each of R.sup.21, R.sup.22, R.sup.25 and R.sup.27 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an alkoxy group which may have substituents, or a substituted amino group; each of R.sup.23 and R.sup.24 which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have substituents, an aryl group which may have substituents, or a heterocyclic group which may have substituents (when R.sup.26 or R.sup.28 is an alkyl group, R.sup.26 or R.sup.28 may be bonded to a benzene ring as indicated by the dotted line); dotted line 7 indicates that Ar.sup.8 may bond to the benzene ring to which R.sup.21 is bonded, as shown by the dotted line to form a structure of the following formula (C-VIII) or (C-IX), and dotted line 8 indicates that Ar.sup.10 may bond to the benzene ring to which R.sup.22 is bonded, as shown by the dotted line to form a structure of the following formula (C-X) or (C-XI): ##STR54## and each of m and n is an integer of 0 or 1 and m+n.gtoreq.1.
- 10. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to claim 9, wherein in the compound of the formula (III), each of Ar.sup.7, Ar.sup.8, Ar.sup.9 and Ar.sup.10 is a phenyl group which may have substituents.
