Claims
- 1. A conductive resin composition which forms a conductive layer positioned between a support and a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photosensitive member, which comprises a resin and conductive zinc oxide whiskers, incorporated in an amount of from 10 to 90% by weight, each having an aspect ratio of not less than 3 and a tetrapod structure comprising a central part and a needle crystal part, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 3 to 200 .mu.m.
- 2. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the tetrapod zinc oxide whiskers incorporated form an electrical conducting path.
- 3. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the needle crystal part of any one of the tetrapod zinc oxide whiskers incorporated is brought into contact with at least one needle crystal part of another zinc oxide whisker.
- 4. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the needle crystal part of the tetrapod structure of the zinc oxide whiskers is composed of at least one selected from the group consisting of a four-axial crystal, a three-axial crystal, a two-axial crystal and a one-axial crystal, wherein a part or parts of the four-axial crystals are broken in the case of the three-axial crystal, the two-axial crystal and the one-axial crystal.
- 5. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 3 to 80 .mu.m.
- 6. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 10 to 200 .mu.m.
- 7. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 10 to 80 .mu.m.
- 8. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the diameter at the base of the needle crystal part is from 0.7 to 14 .mu.m.
- 9. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the diameter at the base of the needle crystal part is from 0.7 to 8 .mu.m.
- 10. A conductive resin composition according to claim 1, wherein the surface of the zinc oxide whiskers is treated with a coupling agent.
- 11. A conductive resin composition for a resinous conductive support of an electrophotographic photosensitive member, which comprises a resin and conductive zinc oxide whiskers, incorporated in an amount of from 10 to 90% by weight, each having an aspect ratio of not less than 3 and a tetrapod structure comprising a central part and a needle crystal part, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 3 to 200 .mu.m.
- 12. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the tetrapod zinc oxide whiskers incorporated form an electrical conductive path.
- 13. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the needle crystal part of any one of the tetrapod zinc oxide whiskers incorporated is brought into contact with at least one needle crystal part of another zinc oxide whisker.
- 14. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the needle crystal part of the tetrapod structure of the zinc oxide whiskers is composed of at least one selected from the group consisting of a four-axial crystal, a three-axial crystal, a two-axial crystal and a one-axial crystal, wherein a part or parts of the four-axial crystals are broken in the case of the three-axial crystal, the two-axial crystal and the one-axial crystal.
- 15. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 3 to 80 .mu.m.
- 16. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 10 to 200 .mu.m.
- 17. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 10 to 80 .mu.m.
- 18. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the diameter at the base of the needle crystal part is from 0.7 to 14 .mu.m.
- 19. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the diameter at the base of the needle crystal part is from 0.7 to 8 .mu.m.
- 20. A conductive resin composition according to claim 11, wherein the surface of the zinc oxide whiskers is treated with a coupling agent.
- 21. A conductive resin composition for a protective layer positioned on a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photosensitive member, which comprises a resin and conductive zinc oxide whiskers, incorporated in an amount of from 0.1 to 30% by weight, each having an aspect ratio of not less than 3 and a tetrapod structure comprising a central part and a needle crystal part, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 3 to 200 .mu.m.
- 22. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the tetrapod zinc oxide whiskers incorporated form an electrical conductive path.
- 23. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the needle crystal part of any one of the tetrapod zinc oxide whiskers incorporated is brought into contact with at least one needle crystal part of another zinc oxide whisker.
- 24. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the needle crystal part of the tetrapod structure of the zinc oxide whiskers is composed of at least one selected from the group consisting of a four-axial crystal, a three-axial crystal, a two-axial crystal and a one-axial crystal, wherein a part or parts of the four axial crystals are broken in the case of the three-axial crystal, the two-axial crystal and the one-axial crystal.
- 25. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 3 to 80 .mu.m.
- 26. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 10 to 200 .mu.m.
- 27. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the length from the base to the top of the needle crystal part is from 10 to 80 .mu.m.
- 28. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the diameter at the base of the needle crystal part is from 0.7 to 14 .mu.m.
- 29. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the diameter at the base of the needle crystal part is from 0.7 to 8 .mu.m.
- 30. A conductive resin composition according to claim 21, wherein the surface of the zinc oxide whiskers is treated with a coupling agent.
