Claims
- 1. A method of forming an electrophotographic image on a toner receiving sheet which comprises:(a) charging an electrophotographic receiving sheet that has a support surface and a toner receiving surface by placing the surface of the support in contact with a charging plate, said receiving sheet comprising a support, a thermoplastic hold-out layer coated from an aqueous medium, and a thermoplastic toner receiving layer, and having a total volume resistivity from 1.0×108 to 1.0×1013 ohm-cm, placing the toner receiving layer of the charged sheet in toner transfer proximity with an oppositely charged image pattern of dry electrophotographic thermoplastic toner particles having a Tg in the range from about 45° C. to 60° C. and electrostatically transferring said toner particles to the receiving sheet, fixing the toner particles to the receiving sheet by heat and pressure to form an image on said sheet of substantially uniform 60° gloss of at least 60 in both Dmax and Dmin areas, the Tg of said toner receiving layer being within 5° C. of the Tg of said toner.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said toner receiving layer comprises:(a) a styrene-acrylic copolymer, (b) an alkali metal salt of a copolymer of styrene, n-butyl acrylate and 2-sulfoethyl methacrylate, or (c) a polyurethane.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the support and the hold-out layer each have a volume resistivity in the range of 1.0×108 to 1.0×1013 ohm-cm.
