Claims
- 1. A method of rearing animals which comprises feeding to said animals an encapsulated lipid material consisting essentially of a dried gel made up of lipid material containing more than 20% by weight free fatty acids encapsulated within a heat-denatured proteinaceous matrix, the amount of fatty acid being such that the mixture of lipid material and proteinaceous matrix sets into a gel at 50.degree. C. or less.
- 2. A method for enhancing mild production in dairy cattle which comprises feeding said dairy cattle encapsulated lipid material consisting essentially of a dried gel made up of lipid material containing more than 20% by weight free fatty acids encapsulated within a heat-denatured proteinaceous matrix, the amount of fatty acid being such that the mixture of lipid material and proteinaceous matrix sets into a gel at 50.degree. C. or less.
- 3. A method of rearing fish which comprises feeding said fish encapsulated lipid material consisting essentially of a dried gel made up of lipid material containing more than 20% by weight free fatty acids encapsulated within a heat-denatured proteinaceous matrix, the amount of fatty acid being such that the mixture of lipid material and proteinaceous matrix sets into a gel at 50.degree. C. or less.
- 4. A method of rearing mink which comprises feeding said mink encapsulated lipid material consisting essentially of a dried gel made up of lipid material containing more than 20% by weight free fatty acids encapsulated within a heat-denatured proteinaceous matrix, the amount of fatty acid being such that the mixture of lipid material and proteinaceous matrix sets into a gel at 50.degree. C. or less.
