Claims
- 1. An evaporator for respirators, comprising:
a storage tank for a liquid; a gas intake; a gas outlet; and an apparatus for heating the liquid, which is formed such that it can heat a small portion of the liquid and inject the formed vapor into a gas, the gas intake and the gas outlet being arranged such that the gas is passed through the upper part of the storage tank over the surface of the liquid which may be located in the lower part of the storage tank.
- 2. The evaporator according to claim 1, wherein a vapor nozzle is arranged in the proximity of the gas intake so that it may inject the vapor into the gas.
- 3. The evaporator according to claim 1, wherein the liquid is water and the gas is air.
- 4. The evaporator according to claim 1, wherein a regulating reservoir connected to the storage tank via a control valve is moreover provided, with the control valve working such that the regulating reservoir is filled up to a certain level when the liquid level in the storage tank is sufficiently high.
- 5. The evaporator according to claim 4, wherein the regulating reservoir communicates with a heating channel, with the apparatus for heating the liquid being arranged such that it substantially heats the liquid located in the heating channel and that the heating channel is connected to the vapor nozzle via a vapor channel.
- 6. The evaporator according to claim 1, wherein the apparatus for heating the liquid is formed by a resistance heater and a thermal bridge, with the thermal bridge electrically insulating the resistance heater from the liquid to be heated and simultaneously producing a good thermal contact.
- 7. The evaporator according to claim 1, wherein the evaporator forms part of a respirator, especially of a CPAP-apparatus.
- 8. The evaporator according to claim 1, wherein a detachable lid for sealing the storage tank in a pressure-proof manner is provided, wherein liquid can be refilled into the storage tank in the opened state and a pressure-proof sealing is provided, when the air flow through leaks in the lid is small as compared to the medium flow through the gas outlet.
- 9. The evaporator according to claim 1, wherein a hinged lid for sealing the storage tank in a pressure-proof manner is provided, wherein liquid can be refilled into the storage tank in the swung open state and a pressure-proof sealing is provided, when the air flow through leaks in the lid is small as compared to the medium flow through the gas outlet.
- 10. A method of evaporating liquids, comprising:
filling a liquid into a storage tank, evaporating a small portion of the liquid; supplying gas; injecting the vapor into the gas; discharging the gas; passing the gas over the surface of the liquid in the storage tank.
- 11. The method according to claim 10, wherein a vapor nozzle injects the vapor into the gas.
- 12. The method according to claim 10, wherein the liquid is water and the gas is air.
- 13. The method according to claim 10, wherein a control valve works such that the regulating reservoir is filled up to a certain level when the liquid level in the storage tank is sufficiently high.
- 14. The method according to claim 13, wherein the regulating reservoir communicates with a heating channel; the apparatus for heating the liquid substantially heating the liquid located in the heating channel; and a vapor channel delivering the heated liquid to the vapor nozzle.
- 15. The method according to claim 10, wherein the liquid is heated by a resistance heater and a thermal bridge, with the thermal bridge electrically insulating the resistance heater from the liquid to be heated and simultaneously producing a good thermal contact.
- 16. The method according to claim 10, wherein the gas is delivered to a CPAP patient.
- 17. The method according to claim 10, wherein a detachable lid seals the storage tank in a pressure-proof manner which means that the air flowing through leaks in the lid is small as compared to the medium flow through the gas outlet, a liquid being refilled into the storage tank in the opened state.
- 18. The method according to claim 10, wherein a hinged lid seals the storage tank in a pressure-proof manner which means that the air flowing through leaks in the lid is small as compared to the medium flow through the gas outlet, a liquid being refilled into the storage tank in the swung open state.
