Claims
- 1. A recombinant DNA vector comprising a yeast promoter operably linked to a DNA segment encoding a 25 kDa sexual stage surface protein, Pfs25, of Plasmodium falciparum lacking the amino-terminal secretory signal and hydrophobic carboxyl-terminal region, wherein the protein is capable of eliciting transmission blocking antibodies.
- 2. The vector according to claim 1 wherein said vector is pBS24.
- 3. A yeast cell comprising said vector according to claim 1 under condition such that said Pfs25 protein is expressed.
- 4. The yeast cell according to claim 3 which is AB110.
- 5. The vector according to claim 1 wherein the DNA segment encodes a polypeptide consisting essentially of amino acids 22 to 190 of Pfs25.
