- 5. A fastener injector comprising:a receiver having a plurality of receiver slots formed by at least three adjacent receiver fingers, each receiver slot sized for receiving different sizes and types of fasteners in a desired orientation; an injector blade operable to extend into the receiver slots to deliver the fasteners in the desired orientation from the receiver to a fastener installation device; and a power supply operable to move the receiver to align one of the receiver slots with the fastener installation device.
- 6. The injector of claim 5, further comprising a plurality of tubes, each tube having an exit disposed proximate the receiver for transferring the fasteners to the receiver.
- 7. The injector of claim 6, wherein each of the plurality of tubes includes a slot for aligning a shank of the fasteners with one of the plurality of receiver slots.
- 8. The injector of claim 6, further comprising a power supply operable to move the receiver from a first position adjacent the exits of the plurality of tubes to a second position clear of the exits of the plurality of tubes for purging the tubes.
- 9. The injector of claim 5, further comprising:at least one feeder tube sized to transfer a range of sizes and types of fasteners in the desired orientation to the receiver; and a power supply operable to move the feeder tube into alignment with one of the plurality of receiver slots.
- 10. A method for delivering a plurality of different sizes and types of fasteners to a fastener installation device, the method comprising:delivering the fasteners in a desired orientation to a receiver using a plurality of tubes the receiver having a plurality of receiver slots formed by at least three adjacent receiver fingers, each receiver slot sized for receiving different sizes and types of fasteners; moving one of the plurality of receiver slots into alignment with the fastener installation device using a power supply; and transferring the fasteners in the desired orientation from the receiver to the fastener installation device using an injector blade.
- 11. The method of claim 10, further comprising moving an exit of one of the plurality of tubes into alignment with one of the plurality of receiver slots.
- 12. The method of claim 10, further comprising receiving a shank of the fasteners in a slot formed in each of the plurality of tubes to align the fasteners with the plurality of receiver slots.
- 13. A method for delivering a plurality of different sizes and types of fasteners to a fastener installation device, the method comprising:delivering the fasteners in a desired orientation to a receiver using a plurality of tubes, the receiver having a plurality of receiver slots formed by at least three adjacent receiver fingers, each receiver slot sized for receiving different sizes and types of fasteners; transferring the fasteners in the desired orientation from the receiver to the fastener installation device using an injector blade; and moving the receiver from a first position adjacent an exit of the tubes to a second position clear of the exit of the tubes for purging the tubes.
- 14. The method of claim 13, further comprising moving one of the plurality of receiver slots into alignment with a receiving mechanism of the fastener installation device.
- 15. The method of claim 13, further comprising, moving an exit of one of the plurality of tubes into alignment with one of the plurality of receiver slots.
- 16. The method of claim 13, further comprising receiving a shank of the fasteners in a slot formed in at least one of the plurality of tubes to align the shanks of the fasteners with one of the plurality of receiver slots.
- 17. A fastener injector comprising:a receiver having a plurality of receiver slots formed by at least three adjacent receiver fingers, each receiver slot sized for receiving different sizes and types of fasteners in a desired orientation; an injector blade operable to extend into the receiver slots to deliver the fasteners in the desired orientation from the receiver to a fastener installation device; a plurality of feeder tubes each having an exit disposed adjacent the receiver, the feeder tubes sized to deliver the fasteners in the desired orientation to the receiver; and a power supply operable to move the feeder tubes to align an exit of one of the feeder tubes with one of the receiver slots.
- 18. The injector of claim 17, further comprising a power supply operable to move the receiver to align one of the receiver slots with a receiving mechanism of the fastener installation device.
- 19. The injector of claim 17, further comprising a power supply operable to move the exits of the plurality of feeder tubes from a first position adjacent the receiver to a second position clear of the receiver.
- 20. The injector of claim 17, further comprising a power supply operable to move one of the plurality of receiver slots into alignment with the fastener installation device.
- 21. The injector of claim 17, wherein at least one of the plurality of tubes is operable to transfer a range of sizes and types of fasteners in a desired orientation to the receiver.
- 22. A fastener injector comprising:a plurality of tubes each sized to transfer different sizes and types of fasteners in a desired orientation; a receiver having a plurality of receiver slots formed by at least three adjacent receiver fingers, each receiver slot sized for receiving different sizes and types of fasteners in the desired orientation from the tubes and retain the fasteners in the desired orientation; an injector blade operable to extend into the receiver slots to transfer the fasteners in the desired orientation from the receiver to a fastener installation device; and a power supply coupled to the receiver and operable to move one of the receiver slots into alignment with a receiving mechanism of the fastener installation device.
