- extruding a starting material for molding containing carbonaceous fibers and a binder in a flat plate-like shape state;
- forming a rib portion to an extruded molded product along a direction perpendicular to a direction of extrusion by means of rolling and subsequently calcining the rib portion and the extruded molded product.
- 2. A method of manufacturing a ribbed porous carbon material as in claim 1, wherein the starting material for molding further contains carbonaceous particles with a grain size of from 5 to 50 .mu.m.
- 3. A method of manufacturing a ribbed porous carbon material, comprising the steps of:
- extruding a starting material for molding containing carbonaceous fibers and a binder in a flat plate-like shape state;
- forming a rib portion to an extruded molded product along a direction perpendicular to a direction of extrusion by means of press forming and subsequently calcining the rib portion and the extruded molded product.
- 4. A method of manufacturing a ribbed porous carbon material as defined in claim 3, wherein the starting material for molding further contains carbonaceous particles with a grain size of from 5 to 50 .mu.m.
