Claims
- 1. A flat wire connector for a flat wire having a plurality of flat conductors spaced horizontally from each other in a generally parallel relationship, each of said plurality of flat conductors having a plurality of copper layers successively arranged in a vertical direction, said flat wire connector comprising:
- a connector body;
- a plurality of flat wire receptacles spaced horizontally along a surface of said connector body, such that each of the horizontally spaced conductors would confront a corresponding one of the flat wire receptacles, each of said flat wire receptacles comprising
- a plurality of spring layers successively arranged in the vertical direction and defining slots interposed between the spring layers, whereby the slots are sized to accommodate a corresponding one of said plurality of copper layers.
- 2. The flat wire connector of claim 1, further comprising biasing screws contacting said spring layers, each biasing screw being housed within said connector body and disposed perpendicular to corresponding ones of said plurality of flat wire receptacles for use in urging said spring layers together.
- 3. The flat wire connector of claim 2, wherein a head portion of each biasing screw is exposed through another surface of said connector body perpendicular to said surface of said connector body.
- 4. The flat wire connector of claim 2, further comprising a plurality of set screws spaced along another surface of said connector body for use in coupling round electrical wire leads led thereto.
- 5. The flat wire connector of claim 2, further comprising a plurality of female elongated slots spaced along and projecting from another surface of said connector body for use in receiving respective male conductive contacts correspondingly spaced along an outlet frame assembly.
