Claims
- 1. A flexible optical medium for operating with a laser beam having a predetermined laser design wavelength comprising a flexible substrate having a surface, a metal imaging layer having a thickness ranging from 100 to 300 .ANG. carried by said surface and a protective overcoat layer of a dielectric non-conducting material on said imaging layer to provide an optimum reflection and abrasion resistance for said imaging layer, said protective overcoat of material being formed of a pair of layers comprised of SiO.sub.2 and TiO.sub.x (x=1.0-2.0) respectively wherein the SiO.sub.2 layer has a thickness less than 1/4 of optical thickness at the laser design wavelength and the TiO.sub.x layer has a thickness greater than one-quarter of optical thickness at the laser design wavelength.
