Claims
- 1. A disposable plastic pump cassette for use in an endoscopic surgical procedure, comprising a housing; an inflow pump means in said housing for supplying liquid under pressure to a body cavity during the endoscopic procedure, and inlet and outlet conduit means within said housing for supplying liquid to and delivering liquid under pressure from said inflow pump means; and a chamber in said housing having an open end, a thin, flexible diaphragm closing said open end, and channel means in said outlet conduit means for directing liquid delivered from said pump means to said chamber.
- 2. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said inflow pump means is a dynamic pump means.
- 3. Apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said dynamic pump means is a centrifugal pump.
- 4. Apparatus according to claim 3, wherein said inflow pump means comprises coupling means for non-contact coupling of said inflow pump means to a motor externally of said housing.
- 5. Apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said coupling means is means for magnetically coupling said inflow pump means to said motor.
- 6. A disposable plastic pump cassette for use in an endoscopic surgical procedure, comprising a housing; an inflow pump means in said housing for supplying liquid under pressure to a body cavity during the endoscopic procedure, and inlet and outlet conduit means within said housing for supplying liquid to and delivering liquid under pressure from said inflow pump means; and pressure-sensing means in said housing for sensing a pressure of a liquid, and channel means in said outlet conduit means for directing liquid delivered from said pump means to said pressure-sensing means.
- 7. Apparatus according to claim 6, wherein said inflow pump means is a dynamic pump means.
- 8. Apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said dynamic pump means is a centrifugal pump.
- 9. Apparatus according to claim 8, wherein said inflow pump means comprises coupling means for non-contact coupling of said inflow pump means to a motor externally of said housing.
- 10. Apparatus according to claim 9, wherein said coupling means is means for magnetically coupling said inflow pump means to said motor.
- 11. A disposable plastic pump cassette for use in an endoscopic surgical procedure, comprising:
- a housing;
- an inflow pump in said housing for supplying liquid under pressure to a body cavity during the endoscopic procedure;
- inlet and outlet conduits within said housing for respectively supplying liquid to and delivering liquid under pressure from said inflow pump; and
- a chamber in said housing having an open end, a thin, flexible diaphragm closing said open end, wherein said outlet conduit includes a channel for directing liquid delivered from said pump to said chamber.
- 12. Apparatus according to claim 11, wherein said inflow pump comprises a dynamic pump.
- 13. Apparatus according to claim 12, wherein said dynamic pump comprises a centrifugal pump.
- 14. Apparatus according to claim 12, wherein said inflow pump comprises a coupling providing non-contact coupling of said inflow pump to a motor externally of said housing.
- 15. Apparatus according to claim 14, wherein said coupling comprises a magnetic coupling.
- 16. Apparatus according to claim 6, wherein:
- said inflow pump means comprises an inflow pump;
- said inlet and outlet conduit means respectively comprise an inlet conduit and an outlet conduit;
- said pressure-sensing means comprises a pressure sensor; and
- said channel means in said outlet conduit means includes a channel for directing liquid delivered from said pump to said pressure sensor.
- 17. Apparatus according to claim 16, wherein said inflow pump comprises a dynamic pump.
- 18. Apparatus according to claim 17, wherein said dynamic pump comprises a centrifugal pump.
- 19. Apparatus according to claim 18, wherein said inflow pump comprises a coupling providing non-contact coupling of said inflow pump to a motor externally of said housing.
- 20. Apparatus according to claim 19, wherein said coupling comprises a magnetic coupling.
